The present disclosure relates to a condenser bushing including a condenser core and electrically conductive field-grading layers, which are embedded in insulating material of the condenser core and arranged around a central channel for conductor extending along an axis defining an axial direction, while an electric connection is provided to at least one of the field-grading layers, wherein pairs of neighbouring field-grading layers with the insulation material between them form sections of the condenser core of axial lengths Lthrough Land with capacitances Cthrough C, characterized in that a shape of at least one of the field-grading layers deviates from cylindricality in order to reduce non-uniformity of electric field stress of the condenser bushing compared to a corresponding condenser bushing with the cylindrical field-grading layers forming sections of the axial lengths Lthrough Land with capacitances Cthrough C.

Condenser bushing

The present disclosure relates to a bushing including an electrical conductor comprising a terminal at a first end of the bushing. The bushing also includes an electrically insulating condenser core arranged around the conductor and defining a central longitudinal through-hole through which the conductor extends. The bushing also includes a plurality of concentric field-grading layers arranged in the condenser core, comprising an inner field-grading layer and an outer field-grading layer. The bushing also includes an electrically conductive head electrically connected with the conductor passing there through, forming a gas-tight cap of the first end of the bushing outside of the condenser core, sealingly engaging a circumferential lateral outer surface of the condenser core and sealingly engaging the conductor. The bushing also includes an electrically conductive connection between the inner field-grading layer and the head.

The dry HV current transformer comprises at least two electrically conductive elements i.e. a head transformer cover, a head housing base, a core casing and a primary conductor. In the dry HV current transformer at least one of the electrically conductive elements has a coating made of solid insulating material separating the surface of the conductive elements from the insulating gel and adapted for limiting the electron emission from the conductive elements into the insulating gel. The voltage transformer comprises a bottom external housing, a bottom support flange, a core. In the voltage transformer at least one of the electrically conductive elements has a coating made of solid insulating material separating the surface of the conductive elements from the insulating gel and adapted for limiting the electron emission from the conductive elements into the insulating gel.

HV apparatus and a method of manufacturing such apparatus

A flange fitted around a round cylindrical condenser core of a bushing is described. The flange comprises an annular lower flange part arranged to fit around a radial shoulder of the condenser core such that a lower shoulder chamfer of the shoulder rests against lower flange chamfer of the lower flange part around the circumference of the condenser core; and an annular upper flange part fastened to the lower flange part and fits around the condenser core above an upper shoulder chamfer of the shoulder. An upper flange chamfer of the upper flange part is between an upper sealing element and a lower sealing element, forming an annular chamfer space is formed between the upper flange chamfer and the upper shoulder chamfer between the upper and lower sealing elements. The flange comprises an injection through hole for a filler material to be injected there through to fill the chamfer space.

Producing power bushing condenser core by additive manufacturing

A high-voltage cable fitting, typically a cable end termination or a cable joint, includes coaxially arranged around an axis a rigid conical insulator, an electrically insulating, elastomeric stress-relief cone matching the rigid conical insulator through a conical interface and an axially aligned current path. The current path connects a conductor of the cable to a high-voltage current terminal arranged on top of the rigid conical insulator and provided for connection to a high-voltage component. The rigid conical insulator is configured as a condenser core and includes a plurality of electrically conductive field-grading layers, which are arranged concentrically around the axis, and a rigid polymeric matrix which embeds the field-grading layers. In order to keep the size of the cable fitting small and to enable the fitting to carry high rated continuous currents a section of the cable conductor, which is stripped off the insulation of the cable, extends from the conical interface to the high-voltage current terminal and forms the axially aligned current path, and the condenser core comprises an axially aligned tubular duct which receives the stripped-off section of the cable conductor and which passes two opposing front faces of the condenser core.

Cable fitting for connecting a high-voltage cable to a high-voltage component

A high-voltage cable fitting with a rigid core insulator that has a first conical outer surface extending concentrically about a longitudinal axis. An elastomeric stress relief element has a first conical inner surface is designed for mating the first conical outer surface at an interface. A rigid member is provided for pressurizing the elastomeric stress relief element at the interface. The stress relief element is pressed onto the rigid core insulator. The rigid member has at least one pressure enhancing portion extending circumferential about the longitudinal axis for causing an additional axial expansion stress in a sleeve portion of the stress relief element extending along the first conical outer surface of the core insulator in an assembled state of the cable fitting.

Cable fitting for connecting a high-voltage cable to a high-voltage component or another high-voltage cable

The method is provided for manufacturing a perforated sheet-like high-voltage insulating spacer for a high-voltage component, which component comprises a field grading condenser core with the spacer which is wound in spiral form around an axis, with electrically conducting layers which are inserted between successive windings of the spacer, and with a polymeric matrix which penetrates the spacer and which embeds the spacer and the layers. The method comprises at least steps as follows: an electrically insulating tape, and the patterned tape is expanded at right angle to the cutting lines in order to form a spacer with a perforated three-dimensional lattice structure. The combined effect of cutting a tape and expanding the cutted tape allows the formation of spacers with a manifold of sizes which exceed the size of the tape in function of manufacturing parameters, in particular in function of the configuration of the pattern and the magnitude of the expansion.

The flange wall includes a first mating portion that engages the first surface feature and a second mating portion that engages the second surface feature of the body portion.

Flange attachment

An exemplary mold is disclosed for impregnating a prefabricated condenser core (C) of a high voltage bushing with a liquid resin and includes two mold modules movable against each other and shaped to form an axially symmetric mold cavity. The mold forms a column of cylindrical design, in which the at least two mold modules are arranged on top of each other. A first of the two mold modules can be executed as a hollow cylinder. Two opposing front faces of the two mold modules and a circular O-ring arranged between the two opposing front faces form a first sealing interface of the metal mold. Such a mold can have a very efficient sealing system and allow high pressures to be applied to the liquid resin and a beneficial forming of the condenser core in a device in which the resin is cured according to a specified temperature profile.

A voltage sensor includes an insulator with mutually insulated electrodes embedded therein. The electrodes are coaxial and cylindrical and overlap axially along part of their lengths. They are mutually staggered and control the surfaces of electric equipotential such that there is a substantially homogeneous electric field outside the insulator and a substantially homogeneous but higher field within a sensing cavity within the insulator. A field sensor is arranged within the sensing cavity to measure the field. This design allows for the production of compact voltage sensors for high voltage applications.
