A wearable article comprising an elastic laminate with an inner web and an outer web being in a face to face relationship, and a skin-facing outer surface and a garment-facing outer surface. The elastic laminate has a total caliper when subjected to the NMR MOUSE method as defined herein, the total caliper having a first 200 μm sub-caliper corresponding to 200 μm of the total caliper starting from the skin-facing outer surface and extending towards the garment-facing outer surface, and a last 200 μm sub-caliper corresponding to 200 μm of the total caliper starting from the garment-facing outer surface and extending towards the skin-facing outer surface. The elastic laminate has a % Liquid Ratio in the first 200 micron sub-caliper to total caliper of less than 20% after 1 minute according to the NMR MOUSE method.

A device for the analysis of fluid distribution in an absorbent article is disclosed. The device provides for a frame, a pressure chamber disposed in contacting and mating engagement with the frame, and a NMR sensor in cooperative engagement with the frame and the pressure chamber. The pressure chamber further comprises a top plate and a conformable surface. The absorbent article is disposable between the top plate and the conformable surface. The NMR sensor is disposable proximate to the pressure chamber and is capable of measuring a fluid distribution in the absorbent article when the absorbent article is disposed between the top plate and the conformable surface of the pressure chamber and the NMR sensor is disposed proximate to a surface of the absorbent article.

Pressure-operable microfluidic structure for the bubble-free combining of two liquid volumes with a fluid chamber that has a feed opening, as well as an inlet and outlet channel emerging into the fluid chamber, wherein the fluid chamber has a cross section that broadens out relative to the inlet channel in the direction of flow from the inlet to the outlet channel and is designed, thanks to the broadened cross section, to broaden a first liquid volume that is essentially pressure-driven and conducted through the inlet channel and through the fluid chamber to a cross section at least approximately corresponding to the full cross section of the fluid chamber, while the fluid chamber has a holding position and is configured so that a second liquid volume, placed in the fluid chamber through the feed opening, can be held in the region of the holding position and the second liquid volume when the first liquid volume is moved through by pressure can be taken up by the latter and delivered as a combined liquid volume through the fluid chamber and into the outlet channel.

The invention relates to a system comprising a rotary valve and an actuating device for the rotary valve. The invention further relates to a related flow system having a rotary valve. The flow system is in particular a micro-flow system. The system comprises at least two separate components, wherein the one component is a rotary valve comprising a hollow cylindrical mount (), a cylindrical valve body () located in the mount, and openings () for at least two channels at the bottom of the mount (). The other component comprises an actuating device () that is provided with pressing means, by means of which the valve body () can be pressed to the bottom of the mount ().

A lab-on-a-chip system with such a microfluidic arrangement and a microfluidic chip that is rigidly connected to the reactor.
