A pump assembly with a pump unit comprising an impeller for pumping fluid, an electric motor for driving the impeller, a control module for controlling the speed of the electric motor in a control mode, and an interface for receiving a pulse width modulated (PWM) control signal with a duty cycle indicative of the speed of the electric motor. The control module is configured to interpret the PWM control signal at start-up of the electric motor per default in a configuration mode as a configuration bit sequence based on the duty cycle of the PWM control signal during a pre-determined configuration window.

Pump assembly and method for controlling an electric motor for driving an impeller of a pump unit of a pump assembly

A pump assembly () includes a rotor axle () extending along a rotor axis (R), an impeller () fixed to the rotor axle (), a pump housing () accommodating the impeller (), and a drive motor with a stator () and a rotor (). The rotor () is fixed to the rotor axle () for driving the impeller (). A rotor can () accommodates the rotor (). The rotor can () includes a rotor can flange (). An electronics housing () has a cap () including a first material () forming a front face () of the cap (). The front face () extends essentially perpendicular to the rotor axis (R). The first material () is at least partially overmolded with a second material () at an inner side of the cap (). The second material () is more heat-conductive than the first material ().

Pump assembly

A pump assembly () includes a rotor axle () extending along a rotor axis (R), an impeller () fixed to the rotor axle (), a pump housing () accommodating the impeller (), and a drive motor including a stator () and a rotor (). The rotor () is fixed to the rotor axle () for driving the impeller (). A rotor can () accommodates the rotor (). The rotor can () include a rotor can flange (). A stator housing () accommodates the stator (). The stator housing () is secured to the pump housing () by a bayonet ring (). The bayonet ring () is resiliently spring-loaded for axially biasing the stator housing () towards the impeller () against the pump housing ().

A pump assembly () includes an impeller with a rotor axis (R). A pump housing () accommodates the impeller. A drive motor with a stator () and a rotor () drives the impeller (). A rotor can () accommodates the rotor (), and a stator housing () accommodating the stator (). The rotor can () is mounted by a first coupling to the pump housing (). The stator housing () is mounted by a second coupling to the pump housing (). The first coupling is located closer to the rotor axis (R) than the second coupling.

A pump assembly () includes an impeller () with a rotor axis (R), a pump housing () accommodating the impeller (), a drive motor with a stator () and a rotor () for driving the impeller (). A rotor can () accommodates the rotor (), and a stator housing () accommodates the stator (). The rotor can () includes a rotor can flange () having a lateral rotor can flange face () fitting within a peripheral wall () of the pump housing (). The lateral rotor can flange face () has at least three radial projections () abutting against the peripheral wall () of the pump housing () and centering the rotor can () with respect to the peripheral wall () of the pump housing ().

A centrifugal pump includes at least one pump stage (). This pump stage () includes an impeller () which is mounted rotationally fixed on a pump shaft (). Apart from the pump stage (), the centrifugal pump is equipped with a turbine wheel () which is arranged on the pump shaft (), without a movement coupling to the pump shaft, in the delivery flow of the centrifugal pump. This turbine wheel () forms a transducer of a flow measuring device. A blading of the turbine wheel () is such that a torque exerted by the delivery flow onto the turbine wheel (') is directed counter to a torque exerted via the pump shaft () onto the impeller ().

Centrifugal pump

a filtering method, with which a fluid to be filtered is led through a filter (), the filter () is back-flushed at regular time intervals and a pre-treatment agent is added to the fluid at the entry side of the filter. A process variable which describes the efficiency of the filtration is continuously computed during the filtration, and a metering quantity of the pre-treatment agent is reset on the basis of the values for the process variable or a characteristic values derived from this.

A pump assembly () includes a pump unit () capable of providing a desired head (H) at zero flow rate, a brushless speed-controlled permanent-magnet AC drive motor () for driving the pump unit (), and a control unit for controlling the drive motor (). The control unit includes a frequency converter configured to receive an input voltage (U). The drive motor () is operable in a field-weakening mode and non-field-weakening mode. The drive motor () is undersized for driving the pump unit () at a design input voltage (U) to provide a lower head (H) than the desired head (H) at zero flow rate in the non-field-weakening mode and for driving the pump unit () to provide the desired head (H) at zero flow rate in the field-weakening mode.

Pump assembly and controlling method

A pump assembly () includes a pump unit (), an electrical drive motor () for driving the pump unit (), and a control unit () for controlling the drive motor (). The control unit () includes a frequency converter (), a voltage converter () and a controller (). The voltage converter () is configured to provide an input voltage (U) to the frequency converter (). The input voltage (U) is adjustable within a voltage range between a minimum input voltage (U) and a maximum input voltage (U). The controller () is configured to determine an actual power consumption of at least one of the drive motor (), the frequency converter () and the voltage converter () during operation of the pump unit (). The controller () is further configured to tune the input voltage (U) depending on the determined actual power consumption during operation of the pump unit ().

A method for detecting faults or operational parameters in a pump assembly by use of a handheld communication device is described. The pump assembly includes an electric motor and a pump, wherein the pump assembly or electric motor has at least one rotating shaft The method comprises the steps of: a) contactless measuring a sound signal emanating from the pump assembly by use of a microphone connected to or implemented in the handheld communication device, b) processing the measured sound signal, and c) recognising one or more sound emanating condition including any possible faults by way of the processed sound signal.

Method and system for detection of faults in pump assembly via handheld communication device

A hydraulic valve includes a valve housing () with an inside that defines at least one first flow path (), and with a valve insert () which is arranged in the inside of the valve housing (). The valve insert () includes a movable valve element () situated in the first flow path (). An infrared temperature sensor () is arranged on or in the valve housing () and is directed onto a surface of the valve insert () or a surface of a thermal conductor () connected to the valve insert. A hydraulic manifold may be provided with such a hydraulic valve.

A method for controlling the power limit of a pump device includes controlling the power limit of the pump device on the basis of a pump media temperature Tand an ambient temperature Tmeasured inside a control box of the pump device. A pump device, in particular a centrifugal pump, is driven by a motor. The motor is controlled by a control box wherein temperature sensors for measuring a media temperature Tand an ambient temperature Tare arranged in the control box so as to control the power limit of the pump device depending on the measured media temperature Tand an ambient temperature T.

A method for determining the functional relationship of several pumps which are controllable in their rotational speed, in a hydraulic installation. At least one pump is activated with a changed rotational speed, and at least one functional relationship of the installation is determined from the hydraulic reactions. With a suitable selection of the control and detection of the hydraulic changes, one may determine the functional relationship of the complete installation.
