There is provided a building management system and a method for associating a portable sensor device with a stationary control device in such a system. Upon detection of a movement of the portable sensor device, the portable sensor device starts to transmit signals more frequently to the stationary control devices. It is determined that the movement of the portable sensor device has stopped if the signal strength of the transmitted signals received at the stationary control devices is essentially constant during a time window. In response to such a determination, the portable sensor device is associated with the stationary control device having the highest received signal strength and the portable sensor device returns to an energy-saving mode.

Association of a portable sensor device in a building management system

A product for controlling physical properties including data processing means with inputs and outputs is provided. The product has approved bounds of behavior. At least one of the outputs includes a control signal disposed to be output by the product. The product is arranged to control an entity for implementing building functionality. The data processing means includes a processing control means, and a software including at least one application, and having a certificate uniquely associated with the application such that authenticity relating to building regulation, standard or directive of the application can be checked. The processing control means includes means for confirming the application by verifying the certificate associated with the application, and means for checking functions of the application and functions of the product as a whole, such that the control signal does not violate the approved bounds of behavior of the product when the application is executed.

Product for controlling behavior of control signals from a certified application

A system for facility management is disclosed, comprising a plurality of system devices each provided with an identity tag uniquely identifying the system device; a system layout database comprising facility layout data including intentional positions of the system devices; a system device database comprising data and identity for each system device; and an operator tool enabled to communicate with the system layout database and system device database, the operator tool being provided with a tag reader enabled to read an identity from the tags of the system devices when being in the vicinity of the system devices, wherein the operator tool is arranged to access data from the system device database about the system device and include said identity in an item of the system layout database. An operator tool and methods for managing the facility management system is also disclosed.
