A power supply apparatus for an X-ray imaging apparatus includes grid connection device(s) to connect to a power grid providing an AC input voltage, including circuit protection arrangement(s) to not trip below a safety current; an actively actuatable transformer arrangement to transform the AC input voltage into a DC output voltage as a supply voltage for the X-ray imaging apparatus; an electrical energy storage system; and a control apparatus to actuate the transformer arrangement to limit power consumption from the electric power grid as a function of the safety current and make up for a deficiency of a power requirement for the X-ray imaging apparatus from the energy storage system. The control apparatus is configured to actuate the transformer arrangement for time-dependent limitation of power consumption from the power grid according to a current/time profile, the current/time profile being deduced from a time-based trip profile of the circuit protection arrangement.

Power supply apparatus for an X-ray imaging apparatus, X-ray imaging apparatus and associated method

An x-ray tube unit includes an x-ray tube unit housing, in which a vacuum housing is disposed, which includes a high-voltage component. The vacuum housing includes an insulating medium circulating in the x-ray tube unit housing flowing around it. Further, a cathode module and an anode are disposed in the vacuum housing, the cathode module lying at high voltage and including an emitter which emits electrons when heating current is fed to it. In addition, a potential difference is present between the cathode module and the anode for accelerating the emitted electrons. In accordance with an embodiment of the invention a high-voltage feed, a heating transformer and a radiation protection component are integrated into the high-voltage component, the high-voltage component being filled at least partly with an electrically-insulating encapsulation material. This produces a compact and installation-friendly x-ray tube unit which has high operational safety.

X-ray tube unit

A positioning apparatus is provided for an electron beam of an electron tube, the apparatus including a first DC voltage circuit having a high potential difference and a second DC voltage circuit having a smaller potential difference, having in each case a first potential level and a second potential level, and a deflection module, which has two inputs and at least one deflection coil, wherein the at least one deflection coil is connected between the two inputs of the deflection module.

Positioning apparatus for an electron beam

An electron source has an electron emitter with an electron emission cathode, a high voltage unit provided for power supply of the electron emission cathode, and a low voltage unit provided to control the high voltage unit. Data are transmitted non-electrically (in particular optically) between the high voltage unit and the low voltage unit.
