The sensor data is collected by one or more sensor systems of one or more vehicles, and submitted by a first user via at least one network. The sensor data is automatically analyzed to detect any problems with the sensor data and to enhance the sensor data, prior to publishing a description of the sensor data in an online marketplace. A graphical user interface is generated that comprises one or more screens of the online marketplace, via which a second user may view the description of the sensor data and purchase the sensor data for download via the at least one network.

The method further includes, when the autonomous vehicle is operating in an autonomous driving mode, controlling, with the electronic processor, at least one vehicle control system of the autonomous vehicle based on at least one of the plurality of settings. The method further includes operating, with the electronic processor, the autonomous vehicle in a manual driving mode. The method further includes receiving, with the electronic processor, data from at least one sensor while the autonomous vehicle operates in the manual driving mode. The method further includes determining, with the electronic processor, a driving style based on the data and adjusting at least one of the plurality of settings based on the driving style.

Systems and methods for operating autonomous vehicles using personalized driving profiles

A navigation system is described for a vehicle equipped with an autonomous driving system. The navigation system includes a human-machine interface with a display and a user control, and an electronic controller. The controller is configured to calculate a plurality of travel routes from a determined starting point to a defined destination point. The controller determines which portions of each travel route will utilized automated driving operation and which portions will utilized manual driving operation. Based on an input received from the user control, the controller defines an automatic-manual driving preference ratio indicating a driver preference for an amount of manual driving operation relative to an amount of automatic driving operation. The controller automatically selects a route from the plurality of travel routes that most closely matches the defined automatic-manual driving preference ratio and outputs the selected route on the display.

Systems and methods are described for an adaptive user interface system for a vehicle with an automatic vehicle system. The adaptive user interface system includes a display and an electronic controller. The controller is configured to generate a graphical user interface indicative of operation of the automatic vehicle system, output the graphical user interface on the display, monitor an indicia of a driver's comfort level, and determine, based on the monitored indicia, when the driver is not comfortable with the operation of the automatic vehicle system. In response to determining that the driver is not comfortable with the operation of the automatic vehicle system, the electronic controller modifies the graphical user interface to provide an increased level of detail.

Adaptive user interface for an autonomous vehicle

This disclosure relates to a method of safely and automatically navigating in the presence of emergency vehicles. A first vehicle may receive, via communication hardware, a message indicating presence of the emergency vehicle. Such a message may originate from the emergency vehicle itself and/or from infrastructure such as a smart traffic light that can sense the presence of the emergency vehicle. The first vehicle may then determine the relative location of the emergency vehicle and automatically respond appropriately by determining a safe trajectory and navigating according to that trajectory until the emergency vehicle is out of range. In some examples, the first vehicle may detect the presence of an emergency vehicle using on-board sensors such as distance measuring sensors, depth sensors, and cameras, in addition to receiving a message via communication hardware.

A localization system within a vehicle in one embodiment includes a global position system (GPS) receiver, a radar sensor, a data storage device including program instructions stored therein, a symbolic map stored within the data storage device, and a controller operatively coupled to the data storage device, the GPS receiver, and the radar sensor, the controller configured to execute the program instructions to analyze data from the GPS receiver, data from the radar sensor, and data from the stored symbolic map, and determine a probabilistic vehicle location based upon the analysis.
