A hydrocyclone having a mid-section having a longitudinal axis and a radius, and a fluid injection member releasably connected to the mid-section. The fluid injection member has a dilution passage therethrough and two spaced apart dilution ports, at least one dilution port being at an angle between 15 and 75 degrees relative to the mid-section radius. The injection member comprises a nozzle housing releasably connected to the mid-section, the nozzle housing having a dilution passage therethrough, and a nozzle adapted to be connected to the nozzle housing, the nozzle being planar and having at least one dilution port therethrough, the nozzle being receivable within the dilution passage.

Hydrocyclone with an improved fluid injection member

1. A hydrocyclone for separating a fiber suspension into a heavy fraction and including a distribution head for supplying a fluid to the separation chamber, which distribution head is situated centrally in the separation chamber relatively close to the other end. The distribution head has at least one outlet passage designed for spraying a fluid jet, the fluid jet having a flow component in the direction towards the other end of the separation chamber, and the fluid jet having another flow component directed towards the one end.

An assembly with hydrocyclones comprising: multiple hydrocyclones having a inlet chamber with two side openings positioned on opposite sides of the inlet chamber and a overflow chamber having two side openings positioned on opposite sides of the overflow chamber. The hydrocyclones are arranged at a support structure, comprising a support bar for support of the hydrocyclones. The hydrocyclones being arranged side by side with their side openings adjacent each other thus forming an inlet pipe by means of the inlet chambers and an overflow pipe by means of the overflow chambers. The present invention concerns a hydrocyclone for cleaning cellulose suspensions from light impurities i.e. a so called reverse hydrocyclone, having a base end and an apex end and a separation chamber having an elongated shape between the base end and the apex end, at least one inlet arranged at the base end and at least one underflow outlet at the apex end and at least one overflow outlet at the base end. The overflow outlet is provided with an additional, light reject outlet arranged concentrically to a length axis of the hydrocyclone. The invention also concerns a system and a method for producing and/or treating cellulose suspension comprising at least a reverse cleaning stage and at least a dewatering stage.

Pulp suspension hydrocyclone cleaner

A hydrocyclone unit for separating a fibre pulp suspension containing relatively heavy contaminants has an elongate tapering separation chamber, an inlet member that feeds the suspension tangentially into the separation chamber at a base end, so as to form a vortex in the separation chamber, a reject fraction outlet at the apex end of the separation chamber for discharging a reject fraction containing heavy contaminants, and a central accept fraction outlet at the base end for discharging a central fraction containing fibres. A fluid injection member is adapted to inject a fluid tangentially into the separation chamber at a distance from the apex end which is at least 40% of the length of the separation chamber, such that the injected fluid increases the rotational speed of a portion of the vortex in the chamber to increase the separation efficiency with respect to fibres existing in the vortex portion.

Separation of fibre pulp suspensions containing relatively heavy contaminants

A method for manufacturing a screen plate with screen slots from a thin plate ( ), which screen slots ( ) are achieved by cutting. The plate is formed by bending to a screen plate of a desired shape. The screen slots ( ) are produced by a laser beam for cutting, which hits the plate from one of its sides, the inlet side. Focus for the beam is situated on a predetermined depth between both sides of the plate. The slot is obtained by at least two cutting operations following each other, in which the direction ( ) of the laser beam forms two different angles with the main plane of the plate. There is obtained a screen slot ( ), the cross section of which increases against the other side of the plate, the outlet side.

In a pressure screening device for separating undesired particles from a fibre suspension a cylindrical screen ( ) is provided.
