An apparatus including a first ferrule, a second ferrule and a tracing fiber. The first ferrule may comprise a cap. The second ferrule may comprise the cap. The tracing fiber may be configured to propagate light from the first ferrule to the second ferrule. The first ferrule may enable the light to be directed into the tracing fiber when the cap is removed. The cap of the second ferrule may be configured to scatter the light to provide an omnidirectional emission of the light from the second ferrule. The tracing fiber may be bundled with one or more data carrying lines in a cable. Each of the data carrying lines may be configured to enable a communication of data. The tracing fiber may be configured to propagate the light without interrupting the communication of data.

Traceable fiber using ferrule and cap at fan-out kit

This document describes a mirror-based microelectromechanical system (MEMS) for optical image stabilization in image-capture systems. The mirror-based MEMS includes a MEMS platform that can rotate about a pitch axis and/or a yaw axis. MEMS rotors drive rotational motion of the MEMS platform. One or more piezo films, flexibly connected to the stationary platform, extend over the MEMS rotors. The piezo films have a resistance value that varies when the piezo films are deformed by the MEMS rotors. The piezo films form a bridge circuit across the MEMS platform, which produces an output voltage that varies with the resistance values. A MEMS mirror, coupled to the MEMS platform, reflects light rays to an image sensor. A microcontroller receives pitch and yaw information from the image sensor. The microcontroller accesses the output voltage and determines how much to move the MEMS platform to compensate for the pitch and yaw of the camera.

An apparatus including a first light pipe, a second light pipe and a tracing fiber. The first light pipe may comprise slot features and may be configured to receive light. The second light pipe may comprise the slot features and may be configured to emit the light. The tracing fiber may be configured to propagate the light from the first light pipe to the second light pipe. The first light pipe may focus the light by refraction into the tracing fiber. The slot features of the second light pipe may be configured to scatter the light to provide omnidirectional emission of the light. The tracing fiber may be bundled with one or more data carrying lines in a cable. Each of the data carrying lines may be configured to enable a communication of data. The tracing fiber may be configured to propagate the light without interrupting the communication of data.

An apparatus including a cable jacket, a plurality of connectors, a first light pipe and a second light pipe. The cable jacket may comprise one or more data carrying lines configured to transmit data and a tracing fiber. The plurality of connectors may each be connected to one end of one of the data carrying lines and be configured to connect to a communication port. The first light pipe may be connected to a first end of the tracing fiber. The second light pipe may be connected to a second end of the tracing fiber. The first light pipe may be configured to receive a light input and focus the light input by refraction into the tracing fiber. The tracing fiber may be configured to propagate the light input to the second light pipe. The second light pipe may emit the light input.

An apparatus is described. The apparatus includes a camera comprising a beam splitter to impose different optical paths for visible light and infra red light received by the camera. The camera also includes an infra red light detector to detect the infra red light and a visible light detector to detect the visible light, wherein, the different optical paths include an optical path having more than one internal reflection within the beam splitter.

In one aspect, a method includes obtaining, by an image sensor that includes infrared pixels and color pixels, a first image of a scene while the image sensor is in a first position, moving the image sensor to a second position, wherein, in the second position, a particular infrared pixel is located where a particular color pixel was previously located when the image sensor was in the first position, obtaining, by the image sensor, a second image of the scene while the image sensor is in the second position, generating a composite image based on the first image and the second image, and determining an estimated distance to an object within the scene based on the composite image.

Compact color and depth imaging system

Implementations of the subject matter described herein include an actuator for adjusting focus in a camera. The actuator can include a carrier module that slides within a central opening of a housing and that carries a lens assembly of the camera. A magnet is located on a first lateral side of the carrier module. A wire coil is located on or along a first lateral side of the housing and faces the magnet on the first lateral side of the carrier module. A driver circuit is located on or along a second lateral side of the housing opposite the first lateral side of the housing. A connector component extends from a first region proximate the first lateral side of the housing to a second region proximate the second lateral side of the housing, the connector component including a conductor that electrically couples the driver circuit to the wire coil.

A time-of-flight camera system is described. The time-of-flight camera system includes an illuminator to illuminate a region within the time-of-flight camera system's field of view. The time-of-flight camera system includes an image sensor to receive optical signals from the illumination for determining depth profile information within the field of view using time-of-flight measurement techniques. The image sensor has circuitry to determine one or more regions within the field of view where a received optical signal from the illuminating was weak. The illuminator is also to re-illuminate the one or more regions with stronger light than the one or more regions received during the illuminating. Each of the one or more regions being smaller than the region. The image sensor is also to receive optical signals from the re-illumination for determining depth profile information within the one or more regions.

Time-of-flight camera system and method to improve measurement quality of weak field-of-view signal regions

An apparatus is described having an integrated two-dimensional image capture and three-dimensional time-of-flight depth capture system. The integrated two-dimensional image capture and three-dimensional time-of-flight depth capture system includes an illuminator to generate light for the time-of-flight depth capture system. The illuminator includes an array of light sources and a movable lens assembly. The movable lens assembly is to movably direct an emitted beam of the light to one of any of a plurality of locations within the illuminator's field of view to form an illuminated region of interest within the illuminator's field of view. The illuminated region of interest has a size that is smaller than the illuminator's field of view.

The camera apparatus may include a reflective element and a motor. The reflective element may be disposed within the frame housing, the reflective element being movable relative to the lens to select a direction from which the lens collects light. The motor may be adapted to move the reflective element in response to detecting a magnetic field change generated by at least one magnet disposed within the frame housing.
