Exemplary embodiments relate to techniques for anonymizing information in an end-to-end (E2E) encrypted environment; the information may include, for example, statistical data about unique page/message views, view counts, view time, what users selected on the message or page, etc. Exemplary embodiments may prevent an E2E system server from being able to identify which user is associated with which record. Various examples are described, including an embodiment in which an originating client generates the data, encrypts it, and sends it to a random contact. The contact decrypts the data, re-encrypts it, and sends it to another random contact. The procedure continues for a set amount of time or for a set number of hops. Other embodiments relate to wrapping the data in various layers of encryption and sending the data to clients in a chain. The encrypted layers prevent clients along the chain from being able to view the anonymized data.

Methods and systems for transmitting anonymized information

Techniques for media endpoint configuration are described. In one embodiment, an apparatus may comprise a messaging server component operative to receive a media message addressed to a recipient user account, the media message comprising a media identifier for a media item; and send the media message to a recipient client device associated with the recipient user account; and a media management component operative to send a media endpoint list to a recipient client device, the media endpoint list operative to configure the recipient client device to retrieve the media item by identifying the media item with the media identifier to a media endpoint determined based on the media endpoint list. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Techniques for media endpoint configuration

Methods and systems are provided to fast fill media players and buffers associated with media players. A bandwidth associated with initial startup of a media player is overloaded to rapidly fill the buffer and initiate the media player. Alternatively, multiple simultaneous data communication sessions are established with a media data source device, and the media data are concurrently received from the simultaneous sessions into the buffer or transferred of out the buffer at startup, thereby decreasing the latency associated with initiating the media player.

Methods and systems to fast fill media players

An apparatus may include a messaging server component operative to determine a sharing event for a data item, the sharing event associated with a source client device with a local storage of the data item. The apparatus may request that the source client device upload the data item to a destination storage device in response to a determination that network storage of the data item is scheduled for relocation from a source storage device to the destination storage device. The apparatus may include a storage management component operative to determine that the network storage of the data item is scheduled for relocation from a source storage device to a destination storage device and de-schedule the relocation of the data item.

Techniques to replicate data using uploads from messaging clients

A cache includes an object cache layer and a byte cache layer, each configured to store information to storage devices included in the cache appliance. An application proxy layer may also be included. In addition, the object cache layer may be configured to identify content that should not be cached by the byte cache layer, which itself may be configured to compress contents of the object cache layer. In some cases the contents of the byte cache layer may be stored as objects within the object cache.

Methods and systems for caching content at multiple levels

A cache logically disposed in a communication path between a client and a server receives a request for a content item and, in response thereto, requests from the server header information concerning the content item and an initial portion of data that makes up the content item. The cache then computes a first hashing value from the header information and a second hashing value from the initial portion of data. A content identifier is created by combining the first hashing value and the second hashing value. Using the content identifier, the cache determines whether a copy of the content item is stored by the cache; and, if so provides same to the client. Otherwise, the cache requests the content item from the server and, upon receipt thereof, provides it to the client.

Systems, methods, and computer products for detecting protocols in a network proxy are provided. Protocol detection includes receiving from a first computer a request for connection to a second computer, the request conforming to a first protocol; establishing a connection with at least one of the first computer and the second computer; receiving data from at least one of the first computer and the second computer, wherein the data conforms to a second protocol; and performing protocol detection on the data.

In accordance with one embodiment of the present disclosure, a system includes one or more computer systems including a memory, one or more processors, and a bypass switch with an open position and a closed position. The one or more computer systems further include computer-executable program code. The computer-executable program code includes one or more virtual machines modules including computer-executable instructions configured, when executed, to cause the one or more processors to implement one or more virtual machines that host one or more guest operating systems and one or more applications. Techniques are provided for securely delivering media data. A requestor is directed to a secure streaming portal after being authenticated. A requesting application contacts the secure streaming portal and requests media data. A configuration header having a key for decrypting the media data is sent to the requesting application using secure communications. The media data is dynamically encrypted using the key and streamed to the requesting application. The requesting application uses the key and decrypts the encrypted media data for consumption.

Techniques for securely delivering media data

Techniques are provided for distributing data over a network. One or more source nodes distribute data to an intermediate node. The intermediate node accumulates the data, dynamically selects a first path for distributing the data to a first destination node, and dynamically selects a second path for distributing the data to a second destination node. In an embodiment, the data is simultaneously distributed over the first and second paths from the intermediate node.

Techniques for distributing data

Methods and systems for managing network traffic by multiple constraints are provided. A received network packet is assigned to multiple queues where each queue is associated with a different constraint. A network packet traverses the queues once it satisfies the constraint associated with that queue. Once the network packet has traversed all its assigned queues the network packet is forwarded to its destination. Also, network activity, associated with higher priority applications which are not managed, is detected. When such activity is detected, additional constraints are added to the network packet as it traverses its assigned queues.
