Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for a tile interface and launch pad system. An embodiment operates by providing a user interface with a plurality of tiles. An indication is received to move a first tile from a first section of the user interface to a second section of the user interface. The first tile as displayed in the first section includes a first selection of information, and tiles of the second section include a section selection of information. The visual appearance of the first tile is modified, and the second selection of information is displayed in the first tile.

System, method, and computer program product embodiments describe back navigation features of a page. In an embodiment, a display device displays the page in a first layout, selected from a set of layouts associated with the page, for displaying a first content. The display device navigates from the first layout to one or more subsequent layouts, each subsequent layout selected from the set of layouts. The subsequent layouts include a second layout that concurrently displays the first content and a second related content in separate panels of the second layout. The display device stores a navigation sequence from the first layout through each of the subsequent layouts. Responsive to receiving a command to return to the first layout, the display device selects the first layout, from the stored navigation sequence, to navigate from the second layout to the first layout. Then, the page is rendered using the selected first layout.

Method for controlling access to electronic documents based on stateless communication

Example embodiments of a system and method for asynchronous data item loading for a dropdown list of a user interface are described. In an example embodiment, a user input directed to a dropdown list control to cause presentation of at least one of the data items of the dropdown list is received. In response to the user input, a determination is made as to whether the data items are available for presentation. If not, the user input is queued in an event queue, the data items are requested from another computing system via a communication network, and a busy indicator is presented on the user interface in conjunction with the dropdown list control to indicate that the data items are not available for presentation. In response to receiving the data items, the busy indicator is removed, and the user input queued in the event queue is processed.

A system for presenting a common user interface (UI) of multiple applications on a client computing device as a web page that includes a set of UI elements leading to a respective set of the multiple applications for a user. In the system, backend servers host a UI infrastructure including the common UI. Design tools are coupled to UI infrastructure for personalizing the common UI that is presented by the backend servers on the client device.
