A system and method for preventing icing in the combustion inlet air path of a gas turbine system. An air intake system of the gas turbine system supplies intake air to a gas turbine engine. The air intake system includes an air filter inlet house to filter the intake air. The air filter inlet house includes at least one filter stage having an array of pulse filters, with each of the pulse filters being hydrophobic. A combustion inlet air path is in fluid communication with the air intake system and the gas turbine engine. The combustion inlet air path receives the filtered air from the air filter inlet house and supplies the filtered air as combustion inlet air to an inlet of the gas turbine engine. A surface of at least one component in the combustion inlet air path includes an anti-icing coating to prevent ice from forming thereon.

System and method for preventing icing in the combustion inlet air path of a gas turbine system

Embodiments of the disclosure relate to transient event mitigating systems and methods that can be incorporated into a power generation system. The power generation system can include an exciter coupled to an alternating current (AC) generator that provides electric power to power lines. The transient event mitigating system can include an automatic voltage regulator that detects a transient event in one or more of the power lines and configures a power converter to respond to the transient event by increasing an amount of direct current (DC) voltage coupled into the power converter. The power converter can provide the increased DC voltage to an exciter coil of the exciter for a transitory period of time in order to adjust the electric power generated by the AC generator and mitigate adverse effects of the transient event.

Systems and methods for mitigating transient events in a power generation system

An alternating current power generation system including an alternating current generator comprising an exciter, a brushless permanent magnet generator voltage source configured to generate a first voltage at a first frequency, a second voltage source configured to generate a second voltage at a second frequency, and a coil. Further, the brushless permanent magnet generator voltage source provides the first voltage as a supplemental voltage supply combined with the second voltage source at the coil to generate a constant exciter field received by the exciter of the alternating current generator.
