Embodiments of the invention provide for Web site reachability management in content browsing. A method of the invention includes monitoring different requests for different resources at respectively different resource location addresses initiating from different content browsers of different end users. Different responses to ones of the different requests that include an error code indicating an inability to provide a requested one of the different resources are detected and ones of the resource location addresses associated with corresponding ones of the different responses that include the error code are stored in a list. Finally, the each of resource location addresses are polled to determine whether or not a corresponding one of the resources is able to be retrieved. In response to determining that a resource of a resource location address in the list has become retrievable, the address is removed from the list and an associated end user notified.

Web site reachability management for content browsing

According to one embodiment of the present invention, a system for processing a search of network sites allows a user to view search results in at least one viewing mode. Each viewing mode allows a user to view multiple result pages, or portions thereof, such that user can browse multiple search results with minimal web navigation. Moreover, the system may allow a user to cull or trim search results while moving between viewing modes with minimal web navigation. In some embodiments, information relating to or included on a result page may be shown as the user culls the search results and progresses through the various viewing modes.

Interface for simultaneous display of selected items from search engine results

In an approach to managing a display of an application by an operating system, one or more computer processors launch a pointing mechanism by an operating system. The one or more computer processors receive an application area, where the application area is defined by movement of the pointing mechanism on a display device. The one or more computer processors receive a launch of one or more applications. The one or more computer processors display the one or more applications in the application area.

Operating system level management of application display

Analysis tools are used for resolving a service request for software performance problems. Ranking of the analysis tools includes measuring a plurality of times to resolution of a plurality of service requests for software performance problems after runnings of a plurality of analysis tools are initiated; capturing sets of errors in the plurality of service requests; storing identities of the plurality of analysis tools with the times to resolution of the service requests and the sets of errors; determining an average time to resolution of each of the plurality of analysis tools for each set of errors; organizing the plurality of analysis tools into one or more categories using the sets of errors; and ranking the analysis tools within each category using the average times to resolution of the analysis tools within the category.
