An apparatus for guiding air through electronic components is disclosed. The apparatus has an intake, a transition portion, and a focused egress. The transition portion is connected to the intake and defines a channel. The channel has a generally 'u' shaped cross-section and a first edge and a second edge configured to be positioned substantially opposing a surface. The focused egress is connected to the transition portion.

Apparatus for cooling electronics

A crossbar cable to connect a crossbar switch with a plurality of outputs comprises a switch connector, a plurality of cables, a plurality of device connectors, and an encasing wrap. The switch connector comprises a plurality of sockets. Each cable has wires connected at a first end to a subset of the sockets in the switch connector. Each device connector is connected to a second end of the wires of one of the plurality of cables. Each of the device connectors is communicatively coupled over the wires to the subset of sockets at the first end of its respective one of the plurality of cables. An encasing wrap bundles the plurality of cables at least at the first ends of the plurality of cables.

An apparatus for managing cables and configured to attach to a side of an electronic device is disclosed. The apparatus has a first planar member which has a plurality of attach points that match a plurality of attach points on an electronic device. The first planar member defines an aperture at least as large as a cable to be attached to the electronic device. The apparatus also has a second planar member parallel to the first planar member. The second planar member has a plurality of attach points that match a plurality of attach points on the electronic device. Additionally, the apparatus has a first support bar connected to and positioned normal to the first planar member and the second planar member.

A network interface device is provided. The network interface device comprises an enclosure having a first portion coupled to a second portion wherein the first portion and second portion have cavities. The network interface device further comprises a removable case having a plate and a base wherein the plate is adapted to be coupled to the base, wherein the case is adapted to be removably disposed in the cavity of the second portion of the enclosure. A network interface circuit is disposed in the case, the network interface circuit is adapted to provide communication to and from a network and to and from at least one customer premise equipment.

A fiber sub-system is provided. The fiber sub-system comprises a fiber optic transmission module, one or more contact boards adapted to couple to shelf interface connectors, and a midplane adapted to couple with the one or more contact boards and the fiber optic transmission module enabling communication between the one or more contact boards and the fiber optic transmission module without requiring modifications to the fiber optic transmission module. The fiber sub-system also comprises a shell for encapsulating the fiber optic transmission module, the one or more contact boards, and the midplane.

Methods and systems of monitoring voltage input to network elements are provided. One method includes receiving an input voltage for a line-powered network element, applying the input voltage across a primary winding of a flyback power converter during an on-time of a primary switch, and transferring the input voltage from the primary winding to a secondary winding of the flyback power converter during an off-time of the primary switch. The method further includes sensing the voltage of the secondary winding during the on-time of the primary switch; and drawing minimal current from the flyback power converter.
