The channeled bone plate includes a substantially rigid and elongated member for use in stabilizing and splinting fractured sections of a broken bone. This elongated member includes a bottom surface and a top surface, with at least one transverse channel formed from the bottom surface. The transverse channel has a size and shape to at least partially accommodate selective insertion of a cable to permit flush mounting of the bottom surface of the elongated member to the fractured sections of the broken bone simultaneously with flush wrapping of the cable around an external surface of the fractured sections of the broken bone. The elongated member and the cable cooperate to support the broken bone as an implant splint.

Channeled bone plate and methods for implanting the same

An axle assembly, including an axle shaft, annular member, hub, inner and outer hub bearings, abutment ring, first and second seals, and an air inlet port. The annular member is disposed about the axle shaft. The hub is coupled for rotation with the axle shaft and defines an outlet port. The first and second shaft seals form seals between the hub and the annular member. The air inlet port is mounted to one of the annular member and the abutment ring and includes an inlet boss. A first fluid conduit is defined by the abutment ring or both the abutment ring and the inlet port. The first fluid conduit is in fluid communication with the air inlet boss. The second shaft seal is spaced apart from the first shaft seal along the rotational axis to at least partially define a second fluid conduit in fluid communication inlet and outlet ports.

Axle assembly having wheel hubs configured for use in vehicle with central tire inflation system

A threaded fastener for attaching an article of hardware to another article comprising a material selected for example from the group consisting of wood, particle board, plastic and fiberglass. The article of hardware is provided with at least one through hole and the article of hardware is fixed to the article by the threaded fastener extending through the through hole in the article of hardware. A shaft of the threaded fastener is provided with a thread that is not a self tapping thread cutting thread; and a tapered shank of the threaded fastener is provided with a self tapping thread cutting thread.

The article of hardware is provided with at least one through hole and the article of hardware is fixed to the other article by a screw that extends through a through hole into the article of hardware. A head of the screw is fixed to the article of hardware by threads located on a tapered shank of the screw.

A method for replacing an endless power transmitting element in a motorcycle having a rear axle assembly with a pair of driven wheels. The method includes: removing the bearing caps from the carrier structure; disengaging the shafts from the differential assembly; moving the differential assembly away from carrier structure; mounting the endless power transmitting element about the differential assembly and through an opening in the carrier housing; replacing the bearing caps to the carrier structure; and re-engaging the shafts to the differential assembly.

Method for removing or installing endless power transmitting element on a motorcycle assembly

An axle assembly for a motorcycle having a plurality of drive wheels. The axle assembly is configured to permit a user to replace an endless power-transmitting element without substantially disassembling the axle housing assembly. A method for forming the axle assembly and a method for replacing an endless power-transmitting element are also provided.
