The present invention describes a composition which includes a binder, a pigment, an insect toxicant, an insect feeding stimulant or a toxicant regeneration enhancer, and an ingredient which is both a filler and a thickener. The composition may be applied to a solid substrate to reproduce an article of manufacture which is both attractive and toxic to insect pests and therefore useful for insect control.

Composition and apparatus useful for attracting and controlling insect pests

This invention is directed to insect control using compositions having attractants, feeding stimulants and toxicants compounded into plastic bait pellets. These pellets are easily handled for distribution in the field. Insects are attracted to the bait pellets, induced to feed and subsequently die. The pellets have the unique advantage of being relatively impervious to environmental conditions and non-polluting.

Plastic bait composition for attracting and killing crop pests

An apparatus for sampling insect populations in an agricultural crop environment is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a chamber to entrap insects thus allowing collecting said insects through the use of a vacuum by an operator and collecting said insects in a filter type bag from which the insects can be classified and counted.
