Automatic self-documentation in a mobile-native clinical trial operations system and service suite

A patient monitoring and communication system uses a patient sensor package and a care operations service suite able to retrieve and analyze data from the patient sensor package. The patient sensor package comprises a number of sensors measuring body functions and indicators relevant to health. A number of communication interfaces with both wired and wireless connectivity is utilized. A number of user interfaces with audio/visual and haptic connectivity and an application suite supports automatic collection of sensor information by the care operations service suite. A care operations message server interacts with the patient sensor packages and provides message services corresponding to their configuration, connection, location, sensor, and presentation managers. Web portal services are provided to administrator, caregiver, patient, and family member users; and a management server interacts with system managers and providing log, data backup, software update, file transfer, command-line, and graphical control management services.

Patient monitoring and communication system

One example includes a capability gateway that is comprised of a receiver and a transmitter. The receiver receives, from a ground station associated with a satellite system, a standard protocol associated with the ground station and a non-standard alternate protocol that includes alternate service layers inserted into an inter-layer boundary of standard radio layers, the alternate service layers providing end-to-end signaling between the capability gateway and a user equipment. The transmitter transmits the non-standard alternate protocol to the user equipment.

Non-standard alternate protocol based satellite communications

A satellite system controller for a satellite system can comprise a receiving module, an interval selector, an epoch selector, and a scheduler. The receiving module can receive, from a transmission originator device, a set interval request message requesting the satellite system controller set a transmission interval and an epoch time for a satellite receiver, the transmission interval being an amount of time the satellite receiver is to remain in a sleep mode between expected transmissions and the epoch time being an instant at which the satellite receiver is to expect a satellite transmission. The interval selector can determine, based on the transmission interval, a sleep mode cycle for the satellite receiver. The epoch selector can select the epoch time according to the sleep mode cycle and the scheduler can schedule the satellite transmission with the satellite system at approximately the epoch time and according to the sleep mode cycle.

Low power mode in a satellite-based broadcast data service

A system adapted to provide multimedia content to a set of users is described. The system includes: a storage adapted to store at least one multimedia content item, each multimedia content item associated with a publisher-user; a set of destination devices, each destination device associated with a subscriber-user, each subscriber-user being associated with the publisher-user; and a server adapted to provide each multimedia content item to the set of destination devices. A method adapted to allow a creator to generate and distribute at least one multimedia content item to a set of subscribers is also described. In addition, a server application adapted to provide at least one multimedia content item to a set of destination devices is described. Furthermore, a server application adapted to allow a creator to compose a multimedia content item is described.

Automated delivery of multimedia content

A system, various methods, and a specific apparatus are provided for the purpose of supporting push-to-talk (PTT) service for a very large group featuring a significantly higher number of listeners than the number of potential talkers, as well as a constrained vocabulary in normal usage. The invention takes advantage of speech-to-text and text-to-speech conversion in end user devices for maximum utterance compression. The invention uses the Iridium Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) system and its Short Burst Data (SBD) service for unicast transmission of talker utterances to a PTT Server, and the same system's Global Data Broadcast (GDB) service for multicast retransmission of utterances from the PTT Server to an effectively unlimited number of listeners. The PTT Server provides priority ordering and preemption as necessary when multiple talkers provide near-simultaneous utterances, effectively managing the floor without interactive protocols among the talkers.

System for providing high-efficiency push-to-talk communication service to large groups over large areas

A method is provided that enhances the throughput of data broadcasts in a multi-beam satellite communication system by taking advantage of target users whose normal environment or equipment provide a better channel performance than that of the nominal environment or equipment for which the system is tuned, which enables a larger coverage area per beam than the nominal design supports. A system is provided that operates the method. A preferred embodiment is described using the Iridium Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) system as a basis.

System and method for providing enhanced throughput in a satellite-based broadcast data service

This invention provides a mobile device ecosystem that is simpler than existing options for all of its participants regardless of their role or business model. The ecosystem includes a mobile device and operating software development kit and store, both of which are implemented as web-based services such that creation, testing, and distribution of customized mobile devices, as well as discovery, investigation, and delivery of same, can all be performed using a standard web browser and includes features that facilitate communication, interaction, community, and sharing among and between creators, users, and other interested parties. The device and operating software store is also not specific to any mobile device brand or brand group, and integrates with both branded and independent application stores. The web-based development kit and store are integrated with one another such that creation of new devices, operating software packages, and applications can be accelerated by incorporation or customization of existing items or components thereof.
