The invention provides DNA compositions that relate to transgenic insect resistant maize plants. Also provided are assays for detecting the presence of the maize DAS-59122-7 event based on the DNA sequence of the recombinant construct inserted into the maize genome and the DNA sequences flanking the insertion site. Kits and conditions useful in conducting the assays are provided.

A novel maize variety designated 6HHXI2022 and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are provided. Methods for producing a maize plant comprise crossing maize variety 6HHXI2022 with another maize plant are provided. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into 6HHXI2022 through backcross conversion and/or transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby are provided. Hybrid maize seed, plants or plant parts are produced by crossing the variety 6HHXI2022 or a locus conversion of 6HHXI2022 with another maize variety.
