A media player is provided. The media player comprises a communications interface, a memory store containing a plurality of personalized advertisements, and a media playback component. The targeted advertisements are refreshed by receiving updates from the communications interface during some of the intervals when the media player is connected to a network. The targeted advertisements are indexed by a plurality of characteristics, the first characteristic being a creation date of the targeted advertisements. The media playback component is configured to play a media content, wherein the media content is stored separately from the targeted advertisements, and to play one of the targeted advertisements in the memory store selected based on the characteristics of the one of the targeted advertisements.

Method for providing personalized, targeted advertisements during playback of media

A video content distribution method is provided that comprises transmitting, by a video content distribution server, an initial portion of a scalable video file associated with a video to a mobile communication device via a first communication channel, transmitting an additional portion of the scalable video file to the mobile communication device via a second communication channel, and reconstructing, by the mobile communication device, at least some of the scalable video file based on reconstruction data using the initial portion and the additional portion of the scalable video file. The method also comprises playing, by the mobile communication device, at least a portion of the video at an initial resolution and frame rate based on the initial portion of the scalable video file and at least a portion of the video at an improved resolution and frame rate based on the reconstructed at least some of the scalable video file.

Video content distribution system and method

A method and system are provided for converting an enhanced Long Range Navigational (eLORAN) signal to a Precision Time Protocol (PTP) signal. Network devices can be located within buildings and not have access to a GPS signal directly from a GPS satellite. Network devices may also be located in a line of sight of a GPS satellite but may lose the GPS signal. An adapter is provided that takes an eLORAN signal, when a GPS signal is lost or not available, and converts the signal into a PTP and other signals to act as timing, synchronization, and syntonization inputs into the network devices. In some cases, the network devices can have a PTP client to receive the PTP signal, one pulse per second signal, and a ten (10) megahertz frequency signal. In other cases, the network devices do not have a PTP client, but can receive a time of day message, one pulse per second signal, and the 10 megahertz frequency signal.

Adapter that converts enhanced long range navigation (eLORAN) to precision time protocol (PTP)

A signaling error management system handles a syntax error in a signaling message received by a wireless communication network from a wireless communication device. The signaling error management system comprises a processing system and a communication transceiver. The processing system is configured to process text of the signaling message to detect the syntax error, correlate the syntax error to an error code, and correlate the error code to a uniform resource identifier (URI). The communication transceiver is configured to transfer the error code and the URI for delivery to the wireless communication device, wherein the wireless communication device uses the URI to retrieve correction data for the syntax error.

Management of syntax errors in signaling messages

Systems, methods, and software for operating a user communication device are provided herein. In a first example, method of operating a user communication device is provided which includes displaying a HTTP link associated with a media resource and receiving a user selection of the displayed HTTP link. The method also includes displaying a delivery time schedule menu for the media resource responsive to the user selection of the displayed HTTP link, and receiving a delivery time schedule instruction indicating a user-acceptable time frame for receipt of the media resource. The method also includes generating and transferring an HTTP request packet with an HTTP header that indicates the user-acceptable time frame for receipt of the media resource into the user communication device, and receiving the media resource associated with the HTTP link according to the delivery time schedule instruction and responsive to the HTTP header in the transferred HTTP request packet.

User timeframe selection for delivery of media resources

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for precision time protocol (PTP) frequency and phase synchronization to unanchored sites over non on-path supported networks are provided. In embodiments, the method includes continuously measuring one-way delay (OWD) and delay offset from a host site to an anchored site to determine a dynamic corrective offset (DCO). One of a plurality of unanchored sites is identified. In embodiments, the DCO is applied to PTP sync or PTP follow-up messages communicated from the host site to the identified unanchored site. The clocks associated with the unanchored sites are synchronized to the host clock.

Delivering precision time protocol frequency and phase synchronization over a network without on-path support

Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for registering media content with a CDN for transfer at a later time. In a particular embodiment, a method of operating a wireless communication device to deliver media content to a plurality of user devices over a Content Distribution Network (CDN) is provided. The method comprises transferring an upload registration request to the CDN that indicates the wireless communication device and an upload time. The method further comprises receiving an upload confirmation transferred from the CDN confirming the upload registration request and powering down after receiving the upload confirmation. The method further comprises powering up and obtaining the media content. After powering up and during the upload time, the method comprises transferring the media content for delivery to the CDN based on the upload confirmation, wherein the CDN subsequently transfers the media content to the user devices.

Registration of media content with a content distribution network for transfer at a later time

Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for a processing an application-authentication request originating from a mobile device. In particular, an application-authentication request comprises user information that is analyzed by an authentication server. The authentication server generates a call to a subscription profile server to validate the user information as belonging to a user profile that is in good standing. In response to determining that the application-authentication request is valid, the authentication server generates an authentication cookie that is provided to the mobile device. Accordingly, the authentication cookie is used by the mobile device to access applications, such as premium services.

A system is provided comprising a computer system and a dynamic network interfaces application that executes on the computer system. The dynamic network interfaces application activates a virtual local area network (VLAN) by associating subnet interface information and a virtual local area network tag, wherein the virtual local area network tag is unrelated to and randomly combined with the subnet interface information, and by transmitting the association of the subnet interface information and the virtual local area network tag to a firewall component and to a network access component.

A communication gateway receives an Internet Protocol (IP) message sourced from a first IP address and directed to a second IP address. The gateway associates the first IP address with a code. The gateway processes the second IP address to identify a Radio Access Network (RAN) address. The gateway transfers the IP message directed to the RAN address and sourced from the second IP address. The IP message uses the code as the source port number. A base station receives the IP message, and in response to the RAN address, wirelessly transfers the IP message to a routing system. The routing system wirelessly receives the IP message and forwards the IP message based on the second IP address which is now in the source address field.

A processor-implemented method for providing application single sign on leveraging a virtual local area network identifier is provided. The method comprises an authentication server providing a client device access to a network via association with a virtual local area network and a credential. The method also comprises the device invoking an application hosted on an application server and the application server identifying a virtual local area network tag associated with the device. The method also comprises the application server sending a message to the authentication server requesting linkage of the tag with a user identification associated with the device. The method also comprises the authentication server linking the tag with the user identification associated with the device and sending a message to the application server containing the identification. The method also comprises the application server using the identification to authenticate the device with the application and the device receiving access.

Application single sign on leveraging virtual local area network identifier

Systems and methods of delegating a proxy node for content delivery to a wireless device are provided. A wireless device authenticates with a proxy node, and the proxy node provides to the wireless device a list of content stored on a first content node. If the wireless device requests a second content stored on a second content node, the second content node sends an attachment request to the proxy node, the proxy node associates the second content node with the proxy node, and the proxy node delivers the second content to the wireless device.

Proxy delegation for content delivery

A system is provided that comprises a computer system, a database, and an application that, when executed on the computer system, receives a message containing notification that an unauthorized communication from a client device has been attempted, searches the database for policies associated with a network resource invoked by the unauthorized communication, and determines authorization for association with policies permitting the client device access to the network resource. The system terminates the client device association with a first virtual local area network and sends a reply to a virtual local area network access device and a gateway device containing information to one of modify and replace a virtual local area network interface associated with the first virtual local area network on each component to provision a second virtual local area network. The system also activates association with the second virtual local area network providing access to the network resource.

Network assignment appeal architecture and process

A system is provided comprising a computer system, a configuration database, and a dynamic network interfaces application that receives a message from a network access component containing a request to authenticate a client device accessing a network service, determines that a policy requires the client device to be associated with a virtual local area network to access the network service, and authenticates the client device for association with the virtual local area network. The dynamic network interfaces application also searches the configuration database for configuration information to provision the virtual local area network, assigns the configuration information to the client device, the network access component, and a firewall component, and sends a reply containing the configuration information to the network access component and the firewall component in response to the request, wherein the configuration information comprises settings to provision the virtual local area network.
