Packaging container for cassettes

A package for holding unpopped popcorn while it is being popped in an oven and which is readily expandable for holding the popcorn after it has been popped, which package is formed from a unitary blank of foldable sheet material such as paperboard.

A folding carton having an integral, internal support structure including a pair of tubular members for receiving portions of a packaged article and cushioning it by preventing it from coming in contact with the exterior walls of the carton.

Cushioning carton

An article carrier and a blank for forming the same is provided having an integral carrying handle which is configured to relieve local stress in the area of the handle which would otherwise tend to tear or deform the paperboard material from which the carrier is formed. More particularly, a cut line is provided in a top panel of the carrier which defines a handle tab that pivots about a hinge line. In addition, the cut line includes two portions which extend beyond the top panel into the opposed side panels of the carrier and are contiguous with a pair of stress relieving apertures also disposed in the opposed side panels. The opposed cut portions are positioned in relationship with the hinge line of the shiftable handle tab such that when the carrier is transported, the local stress, developed in the carton, created by the weight of the contents of the carrier are distributed to the side panels via the portions of the cut line as well as the stress relieving apertures, thereby reducing the likelihood of the tearing of the carrier. In addition, the carrier is provided with an openable flap which is formed in a side panel thereof and extends into a primary end cover flap. The openable flap is provided with a locking strap which is pivotally connected to the side panel of the carrier. The locking strap includes a locking tab that is adapted to be interengaged with a locking aperture provided in a secondary end cover flap for resealing the carrier.

Article carrier and a blank for forming the same

A carton with a plurality of cells and a handle and a blank for forming same have a collapsible arrangement for automatically forming a bottom, partitions and a handle. This arrangement includes bottom panels hingedly coupled to the bottom edges of the wall panels, divider panels separated into first and second sections hingedly coupled to two of the bottom panels at edges thereof remote from the wall panels, and a handle structure coupled to the divider panels at edges thereof remote from the bottom panels. This permits the carton to be shipped and stored in an essentially flat, collapsed configuration and then easily arranged to its assembled, expanded configuration by the application of inwardly directed forces against the side edges of the collapsed carton. These forces cause the bottom panels, divider panels and handle structure to move automatically with the movement of the side wall panels of the carton.

Multi-cell divider carton

A convertible container formed from a single sheet of paperstock includes a rectangular bottom wall, a plurality of upright side walls, and a top wall joined to an edge of one of the side walls. The top wall along with the side walls connected thereto may be unfolded to convert the container from a smaller packaging enclosure to an expanded cooking pan wherein the latter mentioned side walls form an extension of the bottom wall and the top wall is connected to a side wall. The corners formed by the side walls are connected by tuck flaps formed integral with the side walls which comprise a pair of segments integral with each other whereby to seal the corners of the container in order to prevent leakage of contents therefrom. A closure panel is removably connected to the top wall for enclosing and sealing the container prior to use thereof as a cooking pan.

Convertible container for packaging and cooking

A carton for selectively diffusing an air freshener material to the atmosphere includes a first imperforate outer sleeve open at opposite longitudinal ends slidably receiving a second inner sleeve therethrough housing a cake of air freshener. The second sleeve includes a plurality of openings on the lower half of the sleeve which are selectively opened and closed by movement of the first imperforate sleeve relative to the second sleeve. The second, inner sleeve has a sealed closure at opposite ends including a panel extending beyond the side walls thereof for abutment with the upper and lower edges of the first outer sleeve to preclude disassembly of the first and second sleeves.

Air freshener carton

A carton for diffusing an air freshener to the atmosphere including an outer imperforate sleeve slidably receiving in nesting relation an inner sleeve housing a cake of air freshener and having a plurality of openings selectively exposed by moving the outer sleeve relative to the inner sleeve so that the air freshener can be diffused. The outer sleeve has a pair of opposed side panels defined by a series of panels hinged to each other. The last panel in each side wall series is adhesively secured to the top closure wall of the inner sleeve to preclude disassembly of the inner and outer sleeves, while permitting the openings in the inner sleeve to be selectively exposed.

A carton for releasing an active material, such as an air freshener, to the atmosphere includes an outer imperforate sleeve slidably receiving in nesting relation an inner sleeve housing an air freshener cake. The inner sleeve has a plurality of openings for exposing the cake of air freshener material to the atmosphere as the openings are selectively exposed by sliding the inner sleeve relative to the outer sleeve. The inner sleeve is slidable between a first position defined by abutment with the scaled closure of the outer sleeve and a second position intermediate the end containing the sealed closure of the outer sleeve and the opposite end thereof so as to selectively expose certain ones of the openings in the inner sleeve. The inner sleeve contains a sealed closure having a panel extending outwardly beyond the side panels thereof for contact with a pair of locking tabs on the bottom edge of the outer sleeve to preclude disassembly of the first and second sleeves.

A carton with two compartments and a blank for forming same has a collapsible divider panel hingedly coupled to interior surfaces of two adjacent side walls of the carton. The divider panel has a fold line extending from the corner thereof at the fold line between the two adjacent wall panels and extending at acute angles relative to the hinged edges of the divider panel. This permits the carton to be shipped and stored in an essentially flat, collapsed configuration and then easily rearranged to its assembled, expanded configuration by the application of inwardly directed forces against the side edges of the flat, collapsed configuration of the carton. These forces cause the divider panel to move automatically with the movement of the side wall panels of the carton.
