A container and methods of manufacturing and operating the same are provided where the container has a cap that is removable yet childproof. The cap is positioned in a tubular body, and the cap has a generally smooth or continuous upper surface to reduce or eliminate surfaces or edges for a child to grasp. To operate the cap, a disc in the center of the cap is pushed below a lip, and a user grasps the lip to pull the cap from the tubular body. The force needed to press the disc away from the lip is low enough for an adult but too high for a child. Moreover, the cap forms an interference fit with the tubular body with enough friction force to prevent the cap from falling out of the tubular body but is low enough that the cap can be pulled from the tubular body.

A container that can be installed and removed from the storage area of a land vehicle. The container rests on the load floor and defines one or more compartments for storing goods. The lid allows for storage on op of the container. The container has outward dimensions that engage the land vehicle to prevent the container from substantially moving in either a lateral or forward/rearward direction.

A sound reducing shroud for use with an appliance or other machine is provided. The shroud comprises a body made from foam. The body has a sidewall having a discontinuous circumference, a first vertical end and an opposing second vertical end. The body can be resiliently flexible so that the body is re-configurable between an open position in which the first vertical end and the second vertical end are spread apart to accommodate installation of the shroud around the machine, and a closed position in which the first vertical end and the second vertical end mate to form a seam. Alternatively, the body can comprise a first half shell and a second half shell that fit together to make a shroud around the machine. The first half shell and the second half shell can be designed to snap fit together, or can be held together using fasteners or strapping.

A bulk bag carrier for transporting soft goods or granular products is provided. The carrier comprises a flexible bulk bag and a pallet. The bulk bag comprises an upper section that defines a product compartment and a sleeve suspended below the upper section that defines a pocket for receiving the pallet. The pallet may be foldable to facilitate insertion of the pallet into the sleeve.

A packaging system for a printer/copier or other large article that uses less material than conventional packaging systems. In one embodiment the system comprises a pair of elongated foam braces that slide over pairs of vertically oriented corner posts for holding and cushioning the packaged article. In another embodiment the system comprises four foam braces wedged between the four vertical edges of the article and vertical corner posts.

A packaging system for seedling trays is provided which maintains the trays in a stacked, spaced apart vertical arrangement. The packaging system comprises an outer box, a tray holder folded into a U-shape and placed inside the box for holding the trays, and a locking device comprising locking panels wedged between the trays.

A product tray insert that helps hold a vertical post in place is provided. The insert is placed within a product tray and has upwardly folding retaining flaps that capture the bottoms of the vertical posts between the flaps and a side of the tray. The tray insert is particularly useful for packaging systems that do not have a large rectilinear product to fit the posts against and that do not hold the posts at their ends.

An improved tray or other packaging article having hinged tab portions for securing a vertical support post is provided. The hinged tab portions capture the vertically oriented post and hold it in place for easier assembly of a larger packaging unit.

A post in post structure comprising a short inner post segment and a pair of hollow outer posts slipped over either end of the inner post segment and affixed to the inner post segment. The post in post structure is particularly suitable for use with a product packaging and display system of the kind having vertically spaced trays supported by outer posts located over openings in each tray and inner posts inserted inside the outer support posts and through the tray openings to lock the system together.

A box-like base assembly for holding vertical support posts in an upright position. The base assembly includes an outer base box and a center base member that fits within the outer base box, the center base member having inwardly collapsed sections for holding the vertical support posts in an upright position.

A multilayer tubular structure for products with an identification device is disclosed. In one embodiment, a resiliently flexible band is biased with respect to the tubular structure, and the identification device, such as a radio frequency identification device, is interposed therebetween.

A multilayer tubular structure for products with an identification device being embedded or interposed between two of the multiple layers of the tubular structure. The identification device is responsive to radio frequencies and is able to store and transmit information about the multilayer tubular structure, the products, and processes that have been performed on same. A method is provided for manufacturing a multilayer tubular structure by embedding a radio frequency identification device between two of the multiple layers.

A self-venting cartridge () for dispensing an extrudable fluid such as ink. The cartridge () comprises a cylindrical body () for holding the fluid and a plunger () for forcing the fluid through a nozzle. The cylindrical body () is formed of a wound material and lined internally with a liner material that overlaps itself to form a raised area () that is slightly thicker than the surrounding area. The plunger () comprises a slightly convex surface () and a sidewall () that forms a snug fit with the cylindrical body (). The plunger sidewall () and raised area () define a channel (A) through which air is automatically vented when the plunger () is inserted into the fluid-filled cartridge ().

A modular packaging system for shipping and displaying vertically stacked product containers. The system comprises a top cap, a plurality of corrugated trays with openings formed therein for receiving the bottoms of the product containers and restricting their movement, a bottom tray, a pallet, and vertical support posts that key inside the bottom tray and top cap and through the middle trays to help lock the system together. The entire assembly may be held together with banding and wrapped in a transparent plastic film to protect the product from dust and damage during shipment.
