A person's iris color can lighten, such as from brown to lighter brown, green, hazel, or blue, by introducing a melanocyte-killing agent through the cornea of the person's eye and contacting the anterior surface of the iris with the agent at a dose sufficient to kill melanocytes in the iris stroma.

Methods and systems are described for conserving energy used by an energy consuming device. In certain embodiments, an energy conservation system can be configured to deliver energy to the energy consuming device for a period, followed by a period where energy delivery is dampened and/or cut. By cycling the delivery of energy in this fashion, the energy conservation can achieve a pulsed efficiency.

Energy conservation systems and methods

Methods and systems are described for conserving fuel used by an engine. In some embodiments a control module processes a user-provided input, as a first function, into a second function. The second function can be used to direct the engine with a directive output power. The directive output power may have regions equal to, greater than, and/or less than what the power output would be if the engine were controlled using the user-provided input.

Fuel conservation systems and methods

Methods for preventing and treating disease include (i) providing to a person a nutrient material including at least one of lipid or carbohydrate, wherein protein constitutes less than 5 percent of the material's caloric content; (ii) instructing that, during a lower-protein time period of at least two days, the material be administered such that the person's intake of protein is less than 30 grams per day; (iii) instructing that nutrition be administered to the person such that the person's bodily intake of carbohydrate constitutes at least 40 percent of the person's intake of calories during the lower-protein period; and (iv) instructing that, during a higher-protein time period of at least 24 hours following the lower-protein period, the person receives an average daily protein intake of at least 40 grams.

Protein restriction for disease prevention and treatment

A single use security padlock-style lock for sea containers, bonded warehouses, trailers and other storage areas where security is necessary. The lock has an electronic timepiece which displays the time and date in a tamper-resistant case. A shackle is extended through the hasp or closure of the area to be secured. When the shackle is engaged in the lock body, the timepiece display is interrupted providing an indication of the time the area was secured. Each case carries a unique identification number.

Closure security seal with time-recording feature

A security seal for a freight car, freight container or other enclosure. The seal has an electronic timepiece which displays the time and date and is preset at an established reference time. A cut-resistant strap is secured at one end to the seal and has a latch at the other end. When the latch is passed through a lock and is engaged in a receiver in the seal, the strap is locked in place and the power to the timepiece is interrupted providing an indication of the time and date on which the lock was sealed. Other information may be applied to the seal at the time of sealing such as the identification of the individual responsible for the sealing.
