A compact and rugged drive mechanism for a winch of high pull rating is disclosed featuring a cycloid drive of powerful construction which serves to provide a driving connection between a cable drum and a reversible motor driven, two stage chain and sprocket drive to an input drive shaft. The cycloid drive includes a ring gear and cycloid gear in meshing engagement with the ring gear. The cycloid gear is supported for eccentric rotation within the ring gear. A clutch pin is releasably secured in fixed relation to the ring gear and a fixed housing to prevent ring gear rotation during normal power-in and power-out modes of operation under cable load. Controlled free spooling of the drive mechanism is effected, when desired, upon removing the clutch pin to render it inoperative.

Winch drive mechanism

A hose mounted fluid mixing dispenser has a fluid containing bladder inside a bottle. A bottle cap fitting the bottle has a water hose connection, a water passage having a rectilinear portion and a nozzle with an adjustable metering device for introducing fluid from the bladder into the water stream as it passes through the rectilinear portion. A removable plug in the cap permits filling of the bladder. An anti-syphon device is incorporated in the hose connecting portion of the cap. Water fills the space between the bladder and the bottle as the bladder empties, providing a pressure differential to impel fluid into the stream.

Hose mounted fluid mixing sprayer

A fuel dispensing nozzle having an aspirator valve which closes an aspirator line when there is a high negative or positive pressure in the fuel tank being filled, the closing of the aspirator line decreasing pressure in a chamber so that a shaft is released whereby the nozzle automatically shuts off. The nozzle also has a poppet valve controlled with the fuel valve of the nozzle, which poppet valve seals a vapor return line through the nozzle when the fuel valve is shut off.

Fuel dispensing nozzle

A liquid jet gas pump providing suction to recover vapor through a line connected to dispensing nozzle, the pump having chambers for collecting liquid carried by returning vapor and a float therein so that the float, when the amount of liquid collected in the chambers becomes too great, blocks the suction path through the pump thereby shutting off the dispensing nozzle. The pump also has an internal connection from a diaphragm chamber to an internal area which is substantially at atmospheric pressure during pump operation thereby eliminating the need for an access vent from the diaphragm chamber to the atmosphere.

Vapor recovery jet pump

Vapors displaced from a volatile liquid container, such as a vehicle's fuel tank, during refilling of the container are recovered by a system employing a liquid jet gas pump to produce a suction in a vapor removal conduit. The liquid jet gas pump draws the vapors through the vapor conduit at a velocity which is sufficient to remove any liquids in the conduit, thereby preventing blockage of the conduit. Valving arrangements in the liquid jet gas pump make the system compatible with leak detection devices and regulate the vacuum in the vapor conduit to a predetermined maximum.

Vapor recovery in a liquid dispensing unit

Fuel vapors displaced from a vehicle's fuel tank during refueling are recovered by a system employing a liquid jet pump to produce a suction. A minor portion of a conventional fuel pump's output is diverted from the usual metering-and-dispensing conduits, passed through the jet pump, and then recycled to the fuel reservoir which supplies the fuel pump. The familiar fuel dispensing nozzle is provided with passages for conveying vapors away from the vehicle fuel tank. A vapor conduit links those passages with the jet pump thereby aspirating the displaced vapors to the jet pump and, ultimately, the fuel reservoir. Valving arrangements in the nozzle's vapor passages are suited for use with various vapor recovery systems, as is a mechanism which automatically interrupts the dispensing of fuel when there arises a danger of either fuel or vapor escaping from the vehicle's tank.

Vapor control

Disclosed are various improvements in the vapor handling arrangements of a conventional fuel dispensing nozzle. In particular, there is shown a vapor shut-off valve that can override a vapor pressure regulator valve to seal the vapor conduit when fuel is not being dispensed; a magnetic sealing arrangement for preventing escape of vapor at the mouth of the vehicle fuel tank; and a relief valving arrangement to protect both the nozzle and the vehicle tank against excessive pressure conditions.

Vapor control in a fuel dispensing nozzle

A telephone repertory dialer having a manually actuable mechanism mechanically operative for providing relative motion between a magnetic head and a magnetic recording surface. An elongated tape includes a magnetic recording surface and an opposite visual writing surface, the tape being carried by a transport mechanism manually movable to selected positions at which telephone number data is to be recorded or read out. Upon manual actuation of a control button the magnetic head is moved to a start position and then is caused to return at a controlled uniform rate to a home position during which return motion telephone number data is recorded or read out via the magnetic head in accordance with a selected recording or playback mode.
