The carriage assembly includes a carriage operatively connected to a track that is non-linear, which in some embodiments allows a coating to be applied at at least two different thicknesses.

A tool has a working member, a plurality of expansion members, and a handle that is rotatable relative to the working member. The handle has a longitudinally extending chamber in which a portion of the working member having cam surfaces is disposed. The handle also has a plurality of slots in which the plurality of expansion members are disposed. When a torque is applied to the tool, the cam surfaces of the working member cooperate with the plurality of expansion members to cause at least a portion of each of the plurality of expansion members to be moved outwardly from the slots to thereby cause the handle to change from having a first cross-sectional shape to a second cross-sectional shape. At least one spring is interposed between each of the plurality of expansion members and the handle for causing the handle to revert back to the first cross-sectional shape upon a removal of the torque as applied to the tool.

Poles of this invention have an annular body with a wall structure comprising a number of fiber reinforced resin layers, which can be positioned to form an inside and/or outside portion of the wall structure. A portion of the layers are oriented longitudinally within the wall structure, and the wall structure also includes radially-oriented fiber reinforced resin layers. The pole includes one or more layers or a core of a composite material or polymer mortar disposed within one or more locations of the wall structure, e.g., as an intermediate layer and/or as part of the wall inside and/or outside portion. The pole can include an outside surface resistant to ultra violet radiation. Poles of this invention can be formed using a continuous process on a rotating mandrel, making use of differently positioned stations to form the different portions of the pole as the fabrication is moved axially along the mandrel.

The device has a heat conducting base upon which a drum is adapted to be placed. A device adapted to dispense or spray a coating such as a foam in a predetermined pattern or manner on a substrate, preferably a roof. The spray coating apparatus comprises a spray assembly having a carriage which is operatively mounted on a track that preferably provides a linear travel path. The carriage is controlled by a drive mechanism which causes reciprocating movement of the carriage. A spray gun is mounted on a holder of the carriage and controlled by an actuator and is used to uniformly apply coatings at a predetermined thickness controlled in part by a spray rate on the intended substrate. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a cart which is either motorized or manual. The apparatus is lightweight and easily disassembled into sections in order to transport the device from a ground surface to a roof.

A step mounting assembly adapted for demountably securing a removable step member to a hollow utility pole. The step mounting assembly utilizes a backing plate having an obverse and a reverse face. An aperture penetrates the backing plate to receive the shank portion of a mounting bolt with the head thereof disposed in opposition to the obverse face of the mounting plate. A projection extends outwardly from the reverse face of the unique backing late at least partially to circumscribe the aperture that penetrates the backing plate. A spacer lug extends outwardly from the obverse face of the backing plate, the spacer lug being located in proximity to the aforesaid aperture. A washer is interposed between the bolt head and the spacer lug. An elongated bar nut is adapted to engage the threaded shank on the mounting bolt while the bar nut is captured within the projection disposed on the reverse side of the unique backing plate.
