An oil lubricated compressor having a universal motor, efficient starting and re-starting characteristics, and a long operating life. The oil lubricated compressor can have a brushed or brushless universal motor which can drive a cooling fan and a pump. The universal motor can achieve a high torque to voltage ratio, as well as a high torque to current ratio, upon starting or re-starting of the compressor. Optionally, the oil lubricated compressor can use a single cooling fan disposed in the compressor at a location which is between the universal motor and a cylinder head of the pump.

An air compressor assembly can include a support structure with a compressor mechanism, at least one fluid tank, a pair of wheels, and a handle attached thereto. The air compressor assembly can be configured with the compressor mechanism having a perpendicular orientation relative to the at least one fluid tank so as to provide a relatively narrow assembly and to facilitate servicing and/or maintenance of the assembly. Furthermore, the wheels and handle can be configured so that the assembly can be relatively easily located in a balanced transport position. Additionally, an accessory support plate can be attached to the top of the assembly to serve as a dolly.

Air compressor

The present invention generally relates to the field of air compressors and particularly to a shroud assembly for use with air compressors. An aspect of the present invention is directed to a shroud assembly having an outfit shroud, including a top outfit shroud coupled with a bottom outfit shroud; and, a pump shroud including a top pump shroud coupled with a bottom pump shroud; wherein the pump shroud at least partially encompasses a pump assembly of an air compressor and the outfit shroud at least partially encompasses the pump assembly, the pump shroud, a manifold assembly and a pressure switch assembly of an air compressor, the shroud assembly further configured for mounting to an air tank of an air compressor, the shroud assembly allowing for access to working parts of the air compressor and also allowing for a cooling air flow through the interior of the outfit shroud.

The present invention is directed to a suitcase style air compressor assembly having an extensible handle bar assembly, a wheel assembly, and a integral storage container. When the extensible handle bar assembly is fully extended, the suitcase style air compressor assembly may be transported by utilizing the extensible handle bar assembly and the wheel assembly. When the suitcase style air compressor assembly reaches a worksite, the extensible handle bar assembly may be retracted so that the suitcase style air compressor assembly does not occupy a large space. The air compressor includes a storage container for storing air hoses, power cords, tools, and the like.
