A method includes receiving acoustic signals from a user. The acoustic signals are transformed into data. The data are transmitted to a voice-to-text conversion and artificial intelligence system over a network. Information is received from the voice-to-text conversion and artificial intelligence system. The information was obtained from the data and the information is used to create a request to a hotel. A computer readable medium contains executable computer program instructions, which when executed by a data processing system, cause the data processing system to perform a process that includes; receiving acoustic signals from a user; transforming the acoustic signals into data; transmitting the data to a voice-to-text conversion and artificial intelligence system over a network; receiving information from the voice-to-text conversion and artificial intelligence system, wherein the information was obtained from the data; and using the information to create a request to a hotel through a hotel information system.

Apparatuses and methods for an interactive device

Methods and apparatuses control light emitted from a mirror platform through an interaction with a user. A first signal is received from a capacitive sensor during the interaction. The capacitive sensor is incorporated on the back side of the mirror platform. The first signal is processed to obtain control parameters for at least two light sources. The at least two light sources are configured with the mirror platform and the at least two light sources produce light at different color temperatures. The control parameters are used to cause the at least two light sources to emit light at a color temperature established during the interaction.

Systems and methods for changing a color temperature and brightness of a light

A wirelessly enabled mirror includes a mirror, a wireless data system, and a data output interface. The mirror has a front side and a back side. The wireless data system includes a wireless data module. The wireless data system is fixed to the back side of the mirror. The wireless data module is configured to communicate with a user device and to receive wireless data from the user device. The data output interface is configured to receive data from the wireless data module, and the data is derived from a wireless stream of data.

A frame lit mirror component includes an extruded frame member. The extruded frame member further includes a mirror mounting edge. The mirror mounting edge extends along a longitudinal direction of the extruded frame member. The mirror mounting edge is sized to receive an edge of a mirror. A light source volume extends along the longitudinal direction of the extruded frame member. An angle exists between the mirror mounting edge and the light source volume. The light source volume is sized to receive a light source, such that when the light source is in an on-state light radiates from the light source volume.

Methods to partially decrease reflectivities of at least two regions on a mirror platform relative to a reflectivity of a third region are taught. A first region is defined on a surface of the mirror platform. The first region is a media display device viewing area. A second region is defined on the surface of the mirror platform. The second region is a back lit area. A first material is selectively disposed onto a rear surface of the mirror platform outside of the first region and outside of the second region. The first material increases the reflectivity of the mirror platform outside of the first region and outside of the second region. When the mirror platform is viewed from a front side a reflectivity of a third region, which is outside of the first region and outside of the second region, is greater than a reflectivity of either the first region or the second region; and a reflectivity of the first region is different than a reflectivity of the second region.

Vanishing viewing windows apparatuses and methods

Systems and methods include reading a value of a desired light color temperature-time function. A first drive signal parameter is selected for a first light source having a first color temperature and a second drive signal parameter is selected for a second light source having a second color temperature. The drive signal parameters are selected to create a color temperature for a value of the desired light color temperature-time function. First light is emitted from the first light source and second light from the second light source. The first light and the second light combine to form blended light at the color temperature for the value of the desired light color temperature-time function.

Systems and methods for changing a color temperature of a light

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are taught that convey information in a mirror to a user. A glass layer has a front side and a back side. The glass layer further includes a first region. The first region has a first optical property. A second region has a second optical property. The first optical property is different than the second optical property. A first boundary exists where the first region meets the second region and the first boundary is shaped to convey information when the second region is illuminated from the back side and the glass layer is viewed from the front side by the user. When the second region is not illuminated from the back side the first region and the second region provide substantially the same reflection when the glass layer is viewed from the front side by the user, and the first boundary does not convey information.

A wirelessly enabled mirror includes; a mirror, a wireless data system, and a data output interface. The mirror has a front side and a back side. The wireless data system includes a wireless data module. The wireless data system is fixed to the back side of the mirror. The wireless data module is configured to communicate with a user device and to receive a wireless stream of data from the user device. The data output interface is configured to receive data from the wireless data module, and the data is derived from the wireless stream of data.

A reflective cover for a flat panel display includes a surface which is both reflective and transmissive. The cover includes a perimeter frame which is configured to couple to the surface around a perimeter of the surface. The perimeter frame further includes an engagement device. The engagement device is attached to the perimeter frame. The engagement device is configured to engage with a mounting bracket. A blackout shroud is coupled to the perimeter frame to form an opening. The opening is sized so that during mounting, the flat panel display is inserted into the opening and the engagement device engages with the mounting bracket. In operation, when the flat panel display is in an on state images displayed thereon are visible through the surface and when the flat panel display is in an off state a reflection is provided from the surface.

A method to partially decrease a reflectivity of a region on a mirror platform includes isolating the region on a surface of the mirror platform and removing a first material from the surface of the mirror platform within the region. The reflectivity of the mirror platform is decreased within the region.

Systems and methods include receiving a desired light color temperature-time function. A first drive signal parameter is selected for a first light source having a first color temperature and a second drive signal parameter is selected for a second light source having a second color temperature. The drive signal parameters are selected to create a color temperature for a value of the desired light color temperature-time function. First light is emitted from the first light source and second light from the second light source. The first light and the second light combine to form blended light at the color temperature for the value from the desired light color temperature-time function.

An apparatus to provide reflection and information includes a mirror, which has a front side and a backside and further includes a glass layer. The glass layer has an area and a first reflectivity. A reflective layer is adhered to the backside of the mirror and a protective layer is adhered to the reflective layer. The reflective layer further includes a vanishing viewing window. Within the vanishing viewing window at least a part of the protective layer is removed from the to provide a second reflectivity for the vanishing viewing window, such that the first reflectivity is greater than the second reflectivity. The apparatus includes a data display. The data display is positioned behind the vanishing viewing window, such that when a user views the front side, the user sees a reflection in the mirror when the data display is in an off state and when the data display is in an on state the user sees a reflection in the mirror and data in the vanishing viewing window.

Apparatuses and methods for providing a vanishing viewing window within a mirror

A mirror assembly mountable to a wall includes a mirror platform having a front surface and a rear surface, a chassis engageable with the mirror platform to define a mirror assembly interior, at least one electrical component disposed within the mirror assembly interior, and a mounting structure. The mounting structure includes a support member mounted to one of the rear surface of the mirror platform and the chassis and a hanger member mounted to the other of the rear surface of the mirror platform and the chassis. The hanger member is removably securable on the support member to mount the mirror platform to the chassis.
