A method and apparatus for bending a substantially rigid substrate () having first and second portions () interconnected by a bend region (). The apparatus comprises first and second heated die members (). The first heated die member () has a longitudinal body portion () and an outer edge portion () that extends along the longitudinal body portion () and is substantially rounded. The second heated die member () has a longitudinal body portion () and a groove () that extends along the longitudinal body portion (). The first and second heated die members () are configured to contact the substrate () and are capable of bending the substrate () in the bend region () when the outer edge portion () of the first heated die member () slides into the groove () of the second heated die member (). System and method for bending a substantially rigid substrate

The disclosed apparatus incorporates a generally rectangular framework for assembling a set of parallel rods defining adjacent grooves. The apparatus receives and stores a supply of nails in a container. The nails emerge from a storage container and drop onto a sorting device. The nails fall into grooves sized to receive the point but not the head. The head thus hangs, and the nail slides to the end of the groove. The apparatus simultaneously and consecutively drop nails, always in the same position.

Nail separator apparatus

An apparatus which incorporates a generally rectangular framework for receiving a supply of sheet plywood for cutting into individual strips, with each strip converted into a carpet-tacking strip. The apparatus receives and stores a supply of sheet plywood which is individually cut into a plurality of similar or identical strips. Each strip has a bevel on one edge. A number of nails, preferably in two files, are driven through the strip so that the point emerges from the backside. These nails provide a gripping means for engaging the carpet. Additionally, a number of nails for nailing the strips to the floor are inserted, at least partially, through the board from the opposite side. The apparatus simultaneously and consecutively forms a plurality of strips.
