An electrical module assembly (100) includes a mounting frame (130) having a passage (135) extending though the mounting frame (130). A heat sink (160) is positioned within the passage (135) of the mounting frame (130). A module substrate (120) is located on or near the heat sink (160) such that there is thermal conductivity between the module substrate (120) and the heat sink (160). A heat-generating semiconductor device (122), such as a power amplifier (122), which requires heat dissipation, is positioned on the module substrate (120) such that there is thermal conductivity between the heat-generating semiconductor device and the heat sink (160). Electrical connection to the module substrate (120) is provided through the mounting frame (130).

Electrical module assembly

A surface mountable molded electronic component (100) is made from formed wire having a main portion (202) and end portions (102 and 104) connected to the main portion (202). The electronic component (100) includes a first and second recess areas (108 and 110) in molded section (114) for allowing the end portions (102 and 104) to lie inside and provide for the component (100) to be surfaced mounted onto a printed circuit board.

An environmentally sealed battery connector (100) includes a battery contact member (102) having a battery contact location (108). Battery connector (100) also includes a resilient seal member (118) having a battery mating ridge (110) which compresses against battery (204) and environmentally seals the point of contact between battery (204) and battery contact location (108).

An RF contact (2) provides multiple RF paths (51-53) with minimal RF path lengths between a first (8) and second (36) interconnecting surfaces. A stationary member (6) is soldered on the first surface (8). A main spring member (22) is resiliently (26) connected to the stationary member (6) on a springing end (27) to provide contact travel (38) which ensures wiping action with the second surface (36). A secondary spring member (28) having at least two wiping portions (42 and 46) is resiliently (29) connected to the displacement member on its other end (38) to engage the stationary member (6) and the main spring member (22) along the at least two wiping portions (42 and 46) when the main spring member (22) is resiliently biased against the secondary spring member (28) and the stationary member (6).

RF interconnect

A spring clip arrangement is disclosed for a portable battery powered device which provides an efficient chassis retention feature for a slideably removable electrical chassis in unassociated housing. This retention is accomplished without machine screws and no special tools required. This spring clip arrangement also serves as the electrical contact interface for the associated battery power source insertable in a provided battery compartment.
