A desktop audio loudspeaker system, for placement on a desktop used a work surface by a listener, includes an enclosure for placement on or above the desktop, the enclosure having a front surface; a first loudspeaker mounted in the enclosure, the first loudspeaker radiating sound from the enclosure, past the front surface, in a direct path to ears of the listener. This embodiment also includes a first reflective element having a surface, the first reflective element mounted in relation to the enclosure so as to reduce multipath effects caused by reflection of sound by the desktop, wherein the surface of the first reflective element is disposed transversely with respect to the front surface of the enclosure, and forming an angle with the front surface, to reflect sound, emanating from the first loudspeaker, away from the desktop in a direction that avoids a direct path to ears of the listener.

Desktop audio monitor system and method

An electrostatic speaker system including at least one electrostatic speaker element having a pair of stators and a diaphragm therebetween, each of the stators and the diaphragm having an least one electrically conductive portion. The conductive portion of the diaphragm is patterned as a mesh, which may include gaps, and a conforming layer overlying the conducting portion of the diaphragm and disposed so as to cover gaps in the mesh. A speaker drive circuit provides soft clipping of the audio input signal so that the audio signal applied between the diaphragm and the stators does not exceed the maximum acceptable level that can be applied between the diaphragm and the stators of at least one speaker element.

Electrostatic speaker systems and methods

Embodiments of an electrostatic loudspeaker utilize first and second stators and a diaphragm disposed therebetween, each of the stators and the diaphragm having an electrically conductive portion, wherein the conductive portions of the first stators are electrically coupled to each other; the conductive portions of the second stators are electrically coupled to each other; and the conductive portions of the diaphragms are electrically isolated from each other. The first stators and the second stators may be realized by common first and second stators may be mounted obliquely with respect to one another, so as to achieve differentially greater spacing between stators of the first one of the speaker elements than between stators of the second one of the speaker elements. Protective circuitry is also provided.

Electrostatic loudspeaker systems and methods

A remote control system is provided that includes a master controller for storing a plurality of remote control codes for a plurality of remotely controlled equipment, receiving a remote control code request message, retrieving a requested remote control code and transmitting the requested remote control code, and a remote control unit for transmitting the remote control code request message, receiving the requested remote control code from the master controller, storing the requested remote control code, converting the remote control code into a plurality of remote control commands and transmitting at least one of the plurality of remote control commands to at least one of the plurality of remotely controlled equipment, wherein each remote control code contains the plurality of remote control commands for controlling at least one of the plurality of remotely controlled equipment.
