Low saturated-fat sunflower and associated methods

A sunflower seed having imidazolinone resistance and an oleic acid content of greater than 85 percent is provided. Sunflower cultivars designated E83329, OI1601A, OI2653R, and OI1601B and having high oleic acid and imidazolinone resistance, plants and seeds of the E83329, OI1601A, OI2653R, and OI1601B sunflower cultivars, methods for producing a sunflower plant produced by crossing the E83329, OI1601A, OI2653R, or OI1601B cultivar with itself or with another sunflower plant, and hybrid sunflower seeds and plants produced by crossing the E83329, OI1601A, OI2653R, or OI1601B cultivar with another sunflower line or plant are also provided.

The present invention relates to an inbred sunflower line, designated CN5110R. The invention relates to the seeds of inbred sunflower line CN5110R, to the plants of inbred sunflower line CN5110R and to the methods for producing a sunflower plant, either inbred or hybrid, by crossing the inbred line CN5110R with itself or another sunflower line. The present invention relates to an inbred sunflower line, designated ON2509A/B. The invention relates to the seeds of inbred sunflower line ON2509A/B, to the plants of inbred sunflower line ON2509A/B and to the methods for producing a sunflower plant, either inbred or hybrid, by crossing the inbred line ON2509A/B with itself or another sunflower line. The invention further relates to methods for producing a sunflower plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes and to the transgenic plants produced by that method and to methods for producing other inbred sunflower lines derived from the inbred ON2509A/B.

An inbred sunflower line, designated CN2343, the plants and seeds of the inbred sunflower line CN2343, methods for producing a sunflower plant, either inbred or hybrid, produced by crossing the inbred sunflower line CN2343 with itself or with another sunflower plant, and hybrid sunflower seeds and plants produced by crossing the inbred line CN2343 with another sunflower line or plant and to methods for producing a sunflower plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes and to the transgenic sunflower plants produced by that method. This invention also relates to inbred sunflower lines derived from inbred sunflower line CN2343, to methods for producing other inbred sunflower lines derived from inbred sunflower line CN2343 and to the inbred sunflower lines derived by the use of those methods.

Inbred sunflower line CN2343

A sunflower seed having an oleic acid content of greater than 88% and a total saturated oil content of between 6.0% and 7.3% is disclosed. The invention relates to sunflower seeds, to sunflower plants, and to methods of producing a sunflower plant.

Sunflower seed having low saturated oil content

An inbred sunflower line, designated H1063R, is disclosed. The invention relates to the seeds of inbred sunflower line H1063R, to the plants of inbred sunflower line H1063R and to methods for producing a sunflower plant, either inbred or hybrid, by crossing the inbred line H1063R with itself or another sunflower line. The invention further relates to methods for producing a sunflower plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes and to the transgenic plants produced by that method and to methods for producing other inbred sunflower lines derived from the inbred H1063R.
