A user device may join an ongoing communication of another user device by sending a request to the other user device to join the ongoing communication. The other user device may provide an option for the user of the other device to accept the request. Alternatively, the other user device may automatically add the user device to the ongoing communication or decline to the add the user device to the ongoing communication.

Joining ongoing communications

Systems and methods are described for embodiments of a mobile virtualization platform (MVP) that may be embedded in an end user mobile device or comprise part of the firmware loaded on the device. The MVP may implement a thin layer of software embedded on the device to decouple applications and data from the underlying hardware, thus enabling the device to concurrently run multiple operating systems. Furthermore, the MVP may enable applications to run concurrently per each base band.

Users receiving incoming messages may provide their preferences for how they wish to be notified of the incoming messages. Systems and methods are described for embodiments of a mobile virtualization platform (MVP) where in some aspects a wireless mobile device including multiple virtual machines (VMs) may receive data from a remote content provider and process/execute the data using an appropriate virtual machine. In some examples, the MVP may facilitate communication between and coordination among different virtual machines in the MVP, such as to facilitate optimization of data processing/execution.
