A junction box assembly includes a housing member and an electrical component. The housing member has a housing surface and a component receptacle having a pair of opposing sidewalls coupled to the housing surface. Each sidewall has a locking opening disposed therein and each locking opening defines a locking surface. A post is arranged within the component receptacle and extends from the housing surface for a predetermined distance to a post surface. The electrical component is received in the component receptacle and has a component surface adjacent the post surface and a barb received in each locking opening. The post applies a force to the electrical component for retaining the barb against the locking surface.

Junction box assembly having an over-travel spring

An assembly may include a first connector, a second connector, a third connector, a fourth connector, and a staged-release member. The second connector may be configured to matingly engage the first connector. The fourth connector may be configured to matingly engage the third connector. The staged-release member may include first and second portions. The first portion may be secured relative to the first and third connectors. The second portion may be movable relative to the first portion between a first position restricting axial separation of the second connector from the first connector and a second position allowing axial separation of the second connector from the first connector. The fourth connector may restrict movement of the second portion from the first position to the second position while the fourth connector is matingly engaged with the third connector.

Connector assembly for assembling/disassembling four connectors using a staged-release member

An inline fuse holder for housing a fuse that electrically connects first and second wire terminals is provided. The inline fuse holder can generally include a cannulated fuse holder housing having a cylindrical inner periphery. The fuse holder housing can have a first end that defines a first opening, and a second end that defines a second opening. The first and second ends comprise first locking features. A first wire connector includes a connector housing that defines a through bore. The connector housing can have a boss configured to be received by the first opening of the fuse holder housing. The first wire connector further includes a second locking feature that is configured to selectively lock with one of the first locking features in the installed position.

Serviceable inline AC fuse holder

A fuse device for fitting over and around a corner of a battery housing has a top wall and two side walls extending downward from the top wall. The side walls are joined at a corner. A battery terminal for mechanical and electrical attachment to a battery post is provided in the top wall. Electrical connectors for connection to terminals on the ends of electrical cables are mounted on the side walls of the fuse device. The electrical connectors are linked through the walls to the battery terminal by fuses. Ribs extending down the side walls from the top wall pass close by each electrical connector to strengthen the structure of the fuse device and prevent rotation of the terminals on the ends of the cables as they are secured to the fuse device. Recessed strengthening ribs in the top wall extend radially outward from the battery terminal.

Corner-mounted battery fuse

A wire shield has a first tubular section for attachment to a fixed component. A second tubular section is integrally joined to the first tubular section along a common longitudinal axis. The second tubular section has an outer diameter with an outer surface. A small key protrudes from the outer surface. A third tubular section has an inner diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of the second tubular section. An opening having spaced borders extends through the third tubular section. The third tubular section is fit around, and is able to slide upon, the second tubular section with the key positioned in the opening. A mounting device and a support for an electrical connector extending from the third tubular section are adjustable in longitudinal and angular position relative to the first and second tubular sections within limits defined by contact of the key with the borders of the opening.

Adjustable wire shield

A flame-retardant shield or cap for isolating a fastener securing a high current connection to a conductor in a power distribution box (PDB) is manufactured separately from a much larger PDB cover that is not made from flame-retardant material. The cap has a closed end and sides forming an inner chamber for isolating the fastener from the cover and a surface of the PDB on which electrical components are received and mounted. The closed end and sides of the cap snap into a cup-shaped extension positioned on an underside of the cover such that when the cover is closed over the PDB an open end of the cap receives the fastener.

Flame-retardant cap for a high current connection

A mounting device has a lock component attached to a wire harness shield and a bracket component for attachment to an engine part. The bracket component has two spaced, upright parallel arms defining an opening between them. The arms have free ends extending toward each other and separated by a gap. The lock component has a box-like shape with spaced sides. A deflectable section is formed in a first side. A stem extends from the deflectable section toward a second side of the lock component and through a slot in the second side. A push element is formed on an end of the stem extending from the slot. Latches or ledges are formed on ramp-shaped protrusions formed on the deflectable section on each side of the stem. When the lock component receives the parallel arms of the bracket component, the free ends of the arms act on the protrusions to force the deflectable section outward until the ledges snap beneath the free ends of the arms. To release the mounting device, pressing force on the push element moves the ledges from beneath the arms, and the lock component can be lifted from the bracket component.

Mounting device for a wire harness shield

The invention is a removable bolt holder for securing a terminal bolt to a power distribution box housing with the bolt positioned to accept a battery terminal and to secure the battery terminal to a bus bar, for example with a nut. The bolt holder is formed separately from the housing, preferably of a material which is more heat-resistant than the material of the housing. The bolt holder is provided with locking structure which allows a first bolt to be inserted shank first into a terminal engaging position, and which further allows a replacement bolt head to be inserted to release the locking connection with the first-inserted bolt. If the bolt is stripped or fractured during assembly the bolt can be removed from the holder without removing the holder from the housing. If the holder is damaged, the entire holder can be removed from the housing.
