A passive magnetic flux detector (PMFD) is provided for indicating an ambient magnetic field. The PMFD includes a coil, a rectifier, and an indicator. The indicator is either a light emitting diode (LED), a piezoelectric speaker or both.

Passive magnetic field detector

Systems and methods for treatment of a biological tissues including target tissues and other tissues. The method includes elevating a temperature of the target tissues above a physiological temperature of the biological tissues to treatment temperature, and generating an electric field extending through at least a portion of the target tissues using a pre-defined sequence of short voltage pulses applied between at least two electrodes. In the method, the treatment temperature is maintained during the generating. Further, the pre-defined sequence is selected such that a magnitude of the electric field generated is sufficient to induce electromanipulation in the portion of the target tissues without substantially elevating of the temperature of the portion of the target tissues above the treatment temperature.

Electromanipulation of cells and other biological tissues by pulsed electric fields at elevated temperatures

Systems and methods for treatment of a biological tissues comprising target tissues and other tissues. The method includes elevating a temperature of the target tissues above a physiological temperature of the biological tissues to treatment temperature, and generating an electric field extending through at least a portion of the target tissues using a pre-defined sequence of short voltage pulses applied between at least two electrodes. In the method, the treatment temperature is maintained during the generating. Further, the pre-defined sequence is selected such that a magnitude of the electric field generated is sufficient to induce electromanipulation in the portion of the target tissues without substantially elevating of the temperature of the portion of the target tissues above the treatment temperature.

A magnetic coupling (MC) circuit is provided for detecting an obscured object. The MC circuit connects to a current measuring instrument and includes a Marx bank having a plurality of stages; a peaking circuit; and an induction loop. Each stage of the Marx bank includes a resistor-capacitor (RC) loop having a first resistor connecting to a breakdown circuit. The Marx bank connects to a fixed potential known as ground. The breakdown circuit includes a breakdown switch, a second resistor and a bank capacitor. The voltage source connects to the Marx bank. The peaking circuit includes a peaking inductor, a peaking capacitor and a peaking switch disposed in parallel. The peaking switch connects the Marx bank to the peaking capacitor. The induction loop includes an impedance inductor connecting to the peaking switch. The instrument measures a first current in absence of the object and a second current in presence of the object, and detects the object based on difference between the first and second currents.

Detection and detonation of improvised explosive device with magnetic fields

A high voltage circuit is provided for electrical pulse generation. The circuit includes an input voltage supply, a ground potential, a difference load, inverting and non-inverting Marx bank circuits connected respectively to output voltage nodes. The voltage supply has positive and negative terminals, with ground connecting to the voltage supply at the negative terminal. The output voltage nodes connect to the load. The inverting Marx bank circuit has a first n-plurality of stages in parallel, connecting at a first stage to the positive terminal and at a last stage at the inverting output node. The non-inverting Marx bank circuit has a second plurality of stages in parallel, connecting at a first stage to the positive terminal and at a last stage at the non-inverting output node. The load combines the inverting output voltage of minus n-times the input voltage with the non-inverting output voltage of plus n-times the input voltage for a total of 2n-times the input voltage.
