A system for hanging tubing in a wellbore includes a tubular body, a plurality of lower slips mounted along the tubular body, a spring cone disposed around the tubular body and fixed to the plurality of lower slips, the spring cone comprising a lock ring having a ratchet profile, and a packer element disposed around the tubular body, below and adjacent the spring cone.

Bi-directional spring cone in liner hanger system

A technique facilitates use of a liner hanger in a wide variety of environments by distributing loading. The liner hanger may comprise a liner hanger cone, e.g. an annular cone body, having a plurality of slots for receiving corresponding pipe-gripping slips. The slip slots and the corresponding pipe-gripping slips are staggered both longitudinally and circumferentially to distribute loading. An actuator may be used to shift the slips into gripping engagement with a surrounding pipe, e.g. casing, to improve the load distribution on the surrounding pipe and liner hanger cone once the liner is supported.

System and method for distributing loading in liner

A technique facilitates actuation and use of a liner hanger in a wide variety of environments. Depending on the application, the liner hanger may be conveyed downhole within a casing located in a wellbore. The liner hanger comprises slips which may be set against the casing by applying a pressurized fluid through a liner hanger port to a liner hanger actuator. After the slips are set, the liner hanger may be actuated to form a metal-to-metal seal which blocks further fluid flow through the port, thus isolating the port during subsequent downhole operations.

System and method for forming metal-to-metal seal

A method includes pumping cement to a bore of a shifting sleeve disposed in a ported component seated in a cased bore above a liner; flowing the cement from the bore of the shifting sleeve through radial passages of the shifting sleeve and radial passages of the ported component; and flowing the cement to an annulus between a casing of the cased bore and the liner.

Downhole cement flow

A technique facilitates hanging of a liner in a borehole. According to the technique, a liner hanger and a liner may be deployed downhole into a borehole. A wellbore anchoring device of the liner hanger is initially actuated to engage a surrounding surface and to resist downward movement of the liner. Additionally, a hold down anchor is subsequently actuated to resist upward movement of the liner. The hold down anchor may be released via mechanical manipulation of the liner hanger.

Method and apparatus for bi-directionally anchoring a liner in a borehole

A technique facilitates joining of sections of tubing and related monitoring. An expandable tubular member may be coupled with an external tubing, e.g. a casing. The expandable tubular member is deployed into the external tubing to a desired position. Then, an expandable portion of the expandable tubular member may be plastically deformed in a radially outward direction and into engagement with the external tubing. A sensor system may be combined with the expandable tubular member to monitor a characteristic of the expandable tubular member.

System and methodology for coupling tubing

An assembly includes a ported component that includes a bore, radial passages, and axial passages; and a shifting sleeve that comprises a bore, radial passages, seal bosses and associated seal elements that define at least one sealed region with respect to the radial passages of the ported component and that define an open region with respect to the radial passages of the ported component.

A technique facilitates pressure containment with a retrievable cement bushing. The retrievable cement bushing includes a body and an engagement lug that cooperates with a sleeve. The engagement lug is mounted on the body and is movable to a radially outward position for engagement with a corresponding portion of a surrounding wall, e.g an internal packer wall. The sleeve is sized to receive a slick joint therethrough and is secured to a radially inward position relative to the engagement lug via a retention member movably mounted on the sleeve, so as to hold the engagement lug in the radially outward position. The sleeve protects the slick joint from inwardly directed loading via the engagement lug when the retrievable cement bushing is subjected to differential pressures.

Retrievable cement bushing system and methodology

A method can include pumping cement to a bore of a shifting sleeve disposed in a ported component seated in a cased bore above a liner; flowing the cement from the bore of the shifting sleeve through radial passages of the shifting sleeve and radial Rock passages of the ported component; and flowing the cement to an annulus between a casing of the cased bore and the liner.

A technique facilitates pressure containment with a retrievable cement bushing. The retrievable cement bushing comprises a body having an internal longitudinal passage. Additionally, the retrievable cement bushing comprises an engagement lug which cooperates with a sleeve. The engagement lug is mounted on the body and is movable to a radially outward position for engagement with a corresponding portion of a surrounding wall, e.g an internal packer wall. The sleeve is sized to receive a slick joint therethrough and is movable to a radially inward position relative to the engagement lug so as to hold the engagement lug in the radially outward position. The sleeve protects the slick joint from inwardly directed loading via the engagement lug when the retrievable cement bushing is subjected to differential pressures.

A technique facilitates downhole service operations including cementing operations. A retrievable cementing bushing is designed to facilitate the service operation and includes a body on which is mounted an engagement lug. The engagement lug is mounted for movement in a radial direction and includes an outer engagement feature and an inner engagement feature. The inner engagement feature is oriented for cooperation with a slick joint. The engagement lug is biased in a radially outward direction for engagement with corresponding features of a surrounding wall.

Retrievable cementing bushing system

A dual wiper plug system having a first wiper including a first body having a first bore therethrough, and at least one wiper fin disposed around the body, a second wiper disposed axially above the first wiper, the second wiper including a second body having a second bore therethrough and a first shoulder formed on the inner surface of the second body, and at least one wiper fin disposed around the body, and a first collet ring coupled to the first wiper and including at least one collet finger extending axially upward, and a collet head disposed on an upper end of the collet finger and configured to engage the first shoulder of the second body.
