A surface mounted LED light structure has a V-shaped channel with opposed legs and a flat central portion. A flat base strip is attached to each leg. The strips each have a pair of electrically conductive traces. A plurality of LEDs is arrayed along the base strips and electrically connected to the traces. A diffuser is disposed over the LEDs. A spacer sleeve holds the diffuser over the channel central portion. A driver is mounted adjacent the channel and is connected to the conductive traces and to the power source.

In a first aspect of the subject invention, an LED light assembly is provided comprising: a housing; and, a plurality of LED light modules coupled together in axial end-to-end fashion so as to define an elongated lighting strip, each said light module including at least one heat dissipation block and at least one LED element, wherein, said lighting strip is secured to said housing.

A LED light fixture is provided herein for mounting into a troffer housing. The light fixture includes a carrier plate dimensioned to fit within the troffer housing, the carrier plate having a generally flat first portion, a generally flat second portion, and an outwardly indented portion located therebetween. The first and second portions are generally coplanar in a common plane. At least one LED is mounted to the first portion. A driver is electrically coupled to the at least one LED and disposed within the indented portion without extending through the common plane with the driver being fixed to the carrier plate. At least two lead wires are electrically coupled to the driver, and extending therefrom, configured to allow electrical power to pass therethrough to the driver. Advantageously, a LED light fixture is provided herein which is a unitary construction that can be efficiently mounted in a troffer housing.

Troffer-based LED light fixture and retrofitting method using same

A dimming control and driver for an LED luminaire comprises a shutdown relay connected between an AC source and the driver circuit. The shutdown relay will close above a predetermined control voltage, and will open below the predetermined voltage. The shutdown relay will eliminate parasitic loss by turning the power completely off when the LED luminaire is turned off.

The present disclosure generally relates to several embodiments of a new illumination device using a plurality of LEDs, the device is designed to better diffuse heat produced from a heating driver circuitry and the LEDs in a way that allows for either the operating or equilibrium temperatures of the heat sensitive elements as part of the device to be subject to less stringent temperature increases and therefore improve the viability and energy performance of the device. The new design includes toroid-shaped external rings for the plurality of LEDs and a middle opening for the driver circuitry. The new design further includes fins and the use of different spaces and openings within the housing to help control the flow of heat by way of thermal conduction, thermal convection, or thermal irradiation.
