A simple, general purpose temporary dyeing process for coloring plastic or plastic fabric is disclosed. A colorless, but pH sensitive indicator solution is applied to a plastic material, such as the hair of a fashion doll, without changing the hair color. A developer solution of a specific pH range is subsequently applied to the doll hair, thereby causing the color of the hair to change. As the hair dries and the developer solution evaporates, the hair returns to its original color.

Process for making a temporary color change on a plastic material

A method of molding, from porous material, a low-density product having an impermeable surface. A mold is provided, which has a cavity, the outline of which defines the outline of the product. The starting material is a flat sheet of plastic foam. The first step of the process, in some cases, is a pre-heating procedure, which softens the material. Then, from this sheet there is stamped a blank having substantially the outline of the desired product, which is then inserted into the mold cavity. The mold is then heated with the blank therein to form the blank permanently into the desired product, after which the mold is quenched in cold water with the product still inside. The product is subsequently removed from the mold and frozen. The result of this molding method is a low-density product having an impermeable surface integral with the foam interior which is suitable for receiving various types of brightly colored finished. It is also contemplated that a non-porous plastic film may be molded in place on the surface of the product.

A toy simulates an arcade game. A box has a transparent side panel and contains game device that may be manipulated from a control panel at a front of a box. Here the game device is a toy boat or submarine that slides horizontally and deploys a claw to pick up objects on the bottom panel. The boat and claw have separate reversible motors which turn in one direction or the other depending upon the polarity of the applied voltage. To play the game, a user looks at the game pieces while he manipulates the controls at the front of the box in order to pick up an object and drop it through a chute.

A toy simulates an arcade game. A compartment at the top of a box has a transparent bottom and contains game pieces that may be manipulated from a control panel at a front of a box. A mirror in the box reflects the image of the game pieces as seen through the transparent bottom. To play the game, a user looks at the reflection image of the game pieces while he manipulates the controls at the front of the box. Here, the game is a pinball machine in which the transparent bottom has a plurality of upstanding pegs which divert balls into random paths. Any balls which are caught by a manipulation of the controls are diverted into one scoring path. Any balls which are not so caught fall into another scoring path. The invention provides for releasing a selected number of objects at one time to change the required skill level to play. Also, by changing the direction in which the transparent bottom slants, different games maybe provided.

A toy arcade game has a plurality of spaced parallel vertical tracks. A moving object (here a monkey) is mounted on each track to drop under gravity to the bottom of the track. An endless belt drives the object up the track. If a push button is pressed quickly enough, the object drops back to the bottom. It is not pushed quickly enough the object reaches the top of its climb. The object of the game is to push the buttons quickly enough to keep any of the objects from reaching to top of the track.

A two handed toss and catch toy has a pistol-like body with a drive spring biased trigger rod to store energy in a drive spring in response to a manual motion. The stored energy flings a ball upwardly when the trigger rod is released. An upwardly directed basket is provided for catching balls as they fall back to earth. A tunnel magazine extends from the basket to a position where the balls are struck by the trigger arm in order to recycle caught balls for the next flinging.

An action toy system including a capsule for containing water having an orifice and a plunger and a spring loaded mechanism for driving the water from the orifice. The action toy may be configured as a shotgun accepting a plurality of prefilled shell capsules into its breechblock for firing through its barrel. It may also be configured as a missile launcher in which the capsules are mounted to the front of the launcher and the water is ejected directly from the capsule against the target. In yet another embodiment, the invention is configured as a crossbow with the bow loading the spring-loaded mechanism and a water stream obtained on release of the bow. In a still further embodiment, the action toy is fitted with a double feature nozzle for either producing a stream of water or propelling an object.
