According to one example, an extractor may include a main body and a coupling mechanism. The main body can include a slot configured to receive a fastener that couples the extractor to the tibial prosthesis, a groove extending to a lateral side and a medial side of the slot and a projection at least partially defining a side wall of the groove. The coupling mechanism can be connected to the main body and configured to connect with an instrument.

Extractor for removal of an orthopedic prosthesis

Disclosed herein are rasp adapters, rasp systems, and method of use thereof. The rasp adapter can include a body and a retention element. The body can define a body cavity, a handle opening, and a trunnion bore. The retention element can be located within the body cavity and can include a knuckle and a heal. The knuckle can be located proximate to and movable into and out of the trunnion bore. The heal can be located proximate the handle opening. Movement of the retention element due to a force applied to the heal can cause movement of the retention element and movement of the knuckle into the trunnion bore.

Systems and apparatuses including apparatuses that can be used in a knee replacement procedure are disclosed. According to one example, an assembly for a knee replacement surgery is disclosed. The assembly can comprise an adjustment member, a carrier assembly, a posterior slope housing assembly, and a boom. The carrier assembly can be configured to selectively couple with the adjustment member such that the carrier assembly is moveable relative to the adjustment member to a desired position. The posterior slope housing assembly can be connected to the adjustment member and can be configured to pivot the adjustment member relative to a portion of the posterior slope housing and a tibia. The boom can be coupled to the posterior slope housing assembly and can be configured to couple with a mounting component to mount the posterior slope housing assembly, the carrier assembly and the adjustment member relative to the tibia.

Assembly for a tibial cut guide

Tools or other instruments can be used by a surgeon to complete an orthopedic procedure. One tool can include a reference block and a cutting block coupled to the reference block via an adjuster. The reference block can include a body portion and a depth arm having at least one longitudinal groove extending along a side surface. The adjuster can be coupled to the cutting block and configured to move the cutting block along the depth arm. The adjuster can include a roller having an elongate body, the roller including at least one circular guide member and a turn knob positioned along the elongate body, and a resilient member having a base and at least one leg extending from the base, where the adjuster is configured to couple the cutting block to the depth arm.

A surgical instrument is disclosed that facilitates the implantation of one of a number of differently sized or differently configured hip stem prostheses into a proximal end of a femur while also providing a surgeon with a substantial amount of rotational control over the prosthesis during the implantation. A suitable hip stem prosthesis is selected from a family of hip stem prostheses of varying sizes and dimensions. The surgical instrument attaches to the selected hip stem prosthesis via first and second spaced engagement portions such that the instrument is operable to exert rotational control over the selected hip stem prosthesis. The first engagement portion is an impaction portion configured to engage a corresponding impaction feature on a proximal body portion of the hip stem prosthesis. The second engagement portion is an adjustable clamping portion configured to clampingly receive the neck of the hip stem prosthesis, regardless of the prosthesis size.

Instruments for use in resecting, reshaping, and preparing the end of a bone to receive an implant. The instruments may be equipped with indicator devices in the form of light-emitting devices to project an indicator onto the bone. Examples of such instruments may be a cut guide equipped with a built-in cut plane indicator device and a cut plane indicator device for use with existing cut guides. The cut plane indicator device may provide a visual indication or cue on a surface of the bone indicating where the cut plane of the cut guide will intersect the bone.

An apparatus for consolidating earth and anchor setting device. The apparatus includes a vertical support, a plurality of spaced media consolidation plates swingably mounted to the vertical support, a rib disposed along a lower edge of respective ones of the consolidation plates and a bearing plate secured to the vertical support. The apparatus can be used to install a bearing and moment foundation having an upper surface, a lower surface and a converging side surface. The upper surface is adapted to receive a pushing force for pushing the foundation into the soil and the side surface adapted to contact the soil when a pushing force is applied to the upper surface. The anchoring device can also be used to install a pier foundation having a plug, an installation load bearing member, an installed load bearing member and a cap. A grillage assembly can be used to install the foundation and includes at least a pair of intermediate members forming a grillage, at least one anchor securing the grillage to the soil and a plate member secured to the grillage intermediate members and positioned above the soil surface to assist in at least one of installing a foundation, removing an anchor, testing the strength of an anchor and testing the strength of a foundation. Also disclosed are methods of installing an anchor and a foundation.

Method and apparatus for consolidating earth and anchor setting device

A device for augering a conical hole in a solid medium that includes a first elongated member that extends along a longitudinal axis and a cutting blade having a cutting section and a non-cutting section coupled to the first elongated member. The rod is adapted to be rotated about the longitudinal axis. A motor is coupled to the first elongated member which rotates the cutting blade about the longitudinal axis. A shroud is provided through which the first elongated member passes. The shroud attaches to a hydraulic unit. Activation of the hydraulic unit causes the first elongated member to move in a longitudinal direction, which causes the cutting blade to move in a radial direction thereby forming a conical hole in a solid medium. The device is used for forming holes used in foundations and anchors. Also disclosed is a method of operation of the device to form a conical hole in solid media.

Device and method for augering a conical hole in solid media

A bearing pier foundation for compacting soil that includes a plug extending along the longitudinal axis having a first section and a second section. The first section adapted to receive a pushing force for pushing the plug into the soil and the second section adapted to rest on the soil to be compacted. A plane, which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, passes through the second section. The second section includes a first part and a second part. The first part has an inner edge and an outer edge intersecting the plane. The outer edge of the first part attaches to the first section and is positioned further away from the longitudinal axis than the inner edge of the first part. The second part has an outer edge attached to the first part inner edge. The second part extends downwardly from the plane and the second part has a tapering segment extending along the longitudinal axis and includes an upper end and a lower end. The upper end is positioned closer to the plane and has a larger geometric diameter than the lower end. The segment continuously tapers from the upper end to the lower end. The bearing pier foundation can be used in connection with a sheath which conforms to the outer surface of the bearing pier foundation. Further, the bearing pier foundation can be used in combination with a hydraulic setting tool. Also, disclosed is a method for installing the plug and sheath into the soil to compress and consolidate the soil thereunder.
