A cutting tool includes a frame, a shaft, a cutter and a cam. The shaft is rotatable about an axis. The cutter is coupled to the shaft such that rotation of the shaft about its axis causes rotation of the cutter about the shaft's axis. The cam is positioned around the shaft such that the cam contacts the frame upon rotation of the shaft. The cam has a cam surface which is distanced away from the axis of the shaft a varying amount such that contact of the cam with the frame upon rotation of the shaft causes the shaft, and thus the cutter, to reciprocate in a generally transverse direction relative to the axis of the shaft.

A locking system for a movable member supported by a support frame, the support frame having an engagement surface, the locking system comprising a lock member and an input device adapted to be mounted on the movable member the input device being operably connected to the lock member. The input device is rotatable to move the lock member from a first position to a second position, the second position defining a locked position wherein the lock member is adapted to be in contact with the engagement surface. The locking system also includes a link arm and a spring that permits additional rotation of the input device after the lock member reaches the locked position, if necessary.

A locking system is disclosed for a moveable member supported by a support frame, the support frame having an engagement surface, the locking system comprising a lock member and an input device adapted to be mounted on the moveable member, the input device being operably connected to the lock member. The input device is rotatable to move the lock member from a first position to a second position, the second position defining a locked position wherein the lock member is adapted to be in contact with the engagement surface. The locking system also includes a link arm and a spring that permits additional rotation of the input shaft after the lock member reaches the locked position.

Hummingbird feeder

A window having a window panel that slides in a frame and at least one balancer that is secured to the window panel is disclosed. The window is of the tiltable hung type having a vertical operating position in which the balancer slides with the window panel in the frame and a tilted position in which the balancer remains secured to the window panel. The balancer includes an extensible member having a first end operatively coupled to the balancer and a second end operatively coupled to a frame so that the balancer can exert a force on the window panel to assist against the force of gravity when the window panel is in the vertical operating position. A method of constructing a tiltable hung window with a balancer secured to the window panel is also disclosed.

Window panel balance apparatus and method

Disclosed is a window and lock assembly for releasably locking a sash component of a window in a closed position with respect to a frame component; wherein the lock assembly includes two catches mounted on said frame component at spaced apart positions. The catches are rotatably movable between locked and unlocked positions, wherein a slide bar connects the two catches. Rotation of the first catch causes rotation of the second catch, wherein in the unlocked position the first catch is rotationally closer to the first keeper than the second catch is to the second keeper.

Casement lock

A spring acts on an operating member of a parking brake control and, when the brake is released, not only reduces the flyback energy resulting from the release but also stores such energy for use as a power assist during the next application of the brake. The spring acts on the operating member through a cam which removes the spring force from the operating member when the brake is fully released while progressively amplifying the spring force as the brake is progressively applied.
