Integrated Thermal Interface Detachment Mechanism for Inaccessible Interfaces are disclosed. According to an aspect, an exemplary device for an electronic component having a thermal interface material, comprising a heat sink configured to contact the thermal interface material and configured to heat transfer interface with the electronic component while the thermal interface material is in contiguous contact with both the heat sink and the electronic component, and a separator mechanism configured to advance a separator ram with respect to the heat sink and effect a force upon the thermal interface material, such that advancing the ram breaks the contiguous contact of the thermal interface material with at least one of the heat sink and the electronic component.

Integrated thermal interface detachment mechanism for inaccessible interfaces

A tool according to one embodiment includes an actuating mechanism including a cam plate; at least one gripper member operatively coupled to the cam plate; and a carriage for supporting the at least one gripper member, wherein the at least one gripper member is actuatable by the cam plate, wherein rotation of the cam plate causes the at least one gripper member to move between a first position and a second position, wherein when the at least one gripper member is in the first position, the tool is able to accept a processor for holding thereof, and wherein when the at least one gripper member is in the second position, the tool securely holds the processor therein. Additional systems and methods are also presented.

Tool for installation and removal of semiconductor device

A device for use with rack-mounted equipment is disclosed. The device comprises a threaded portion and a clip element coupled to the threaded portion whereby the device is capable of being utilized in conjunction with a plurality of rack configurations. Through the use of the present invention, both square-hole and round-hole rack configurations can be accommodated with one device. This results in a significant reduction in the cost of computer/rack-mounted equipment.

A &ldquo;hot-pluggable&rdquo; hard disk drive is mounted in a removable hard disk drive tray. The hard disk drive tray has a vibration dampening system for reducing vibration between the hard disk drive, the hard disk drive tray, and a hard disk drive docking bay located within a computer system. The vibration dampening system has three primary components. The first component is a strip of polymeric material located between an end of the hard disk drive tray and the docking bay. The second component of the vibration dampening system is a set of polymeric strips located between an inner surface of the tray and the hard disk drive. The third component of the vibration dampening system is a set of spring assemblies. Each spring assembly is located between the sides of the tray and the docking bay.
