A method of separation of predetermined gas from the mixture of gases or an atmosphere, wherein said method of separation of predetermined gas from a mixture of gases or an atmosphere comprises passing a mixture of gases or an atmosphere through the reinforced mass selective fluid bandpass filter (). The reinforced mass selective fluid bandpass filter comprises the mass selective fluid bandpass filter element () permanently affixed to the sintered metal load bearing structure (). The mass selective fluid bandpass filter element consists of quartz glass, of either natural or manmade origin. This method provides removing predetermined gas from the group consisting of:H,HH,H,HH,HH,H,HO,HHO,HOHHO,HHO,HO, O, O,CO,CO,CO,CO, N, NO, NO, NO, SiO, FeO, FeO, SiF, HF, NH, SO, SO, HSO, HS,Cl,Cl, F, AlO, CaO, MnO, PO, phenols, volatile organic compounds, and peroxyacyl nitrates.

Bandpass filter for separation of a specifically selected gas from a group of gases or an atmosphere

Disclosed is a mass selective fluid bandpass filter. This filter provides for selecting gas molecules of a specific mass from a gas sample containing molecules of two or more mass species. This provides for a low power, low cost apparatus for producingHe from terrestrial sources of helium gas by selective enrichment. This invention further discloses a portable, field deployable means ofHe/He ratio determination employing one or more of the effects consisting of: statistical linear regression plots of heat ramps, variable emission currents within a quadruple mass spectrometer, use of a quadrupole mass spectrometer in concert with ultrahigh vacuum maintained by non-evaporable getter pumps, and/or construction of vacuum housing structures from non-steel or non-stainless steel alloys, and or non metallic materials selected from a group consisting of: aluminum, titanium, ceramics, or glass. This provides a compact, sensitive field deployable unit with low power consumption.

Isotopic enrichment of helium-3 through glass

A generally spherical sealed reactor vessel defining a volume. A target sphere shaped electrodeis centered within a nonconductive reactor vessel. The target sphere is insulated from and fixedly centered within the nonconductive reactor vessel by an insulated stalk. This vessel is suspended in an insulating and cooling mediumcomposed of transformer oil. Deuterium gasis released into and contained within the volume at a predetermined pressure. A source of high voltage, high frequency potentialis connected to the target electrode by an electrical connection. The other terminal of the high voltage, high frequency potential source is connected to Earth ground. The applied alternating electrical potential creates an alternating electrical field within the reaction chamber. This an oscillating electric field is formed within the enclosed space of nonconductive reactor vessel, extending between target electrodeand heat absorbent container. This electric field is of sufficient intensity to provide for the ionization of gases contained therein. It also provides for the alternately radial outward acceleration and the alternately radial inward acceleration of the contained ionized gases. The collapsing of ionized gases provides for ions impacting the spherical target, and for the impact of ions with one another. The intensity of the electric field is sufficient that such impacts occur at fusion reactive velocities.
