A method and apparatus comprising a group of passive sensor systems, an active sensor system, and a processor unit. The group of passive sensor systems is configured to generate first sensor information from light in an environment around the group of passive sensor systems. The active sensor system is configured to send signals, receive responses from the signals, and generate second sensor information from the responses. The processor unit is configured to control the active sensor system to send the signals in a direction toward an object using the first sensor information and generate information about the object using the second sensor information.

A method and apparatus for identifying information about objects. Radiant intensity measurements for an object are identified from sensor data for a plurality of bands of electromagnetic radiation. The object has parts. A system of equations that includes the radiant intensity measurements is generated. Method and apparatus for identifying information about spatially unresolved objects in hyperspectral images

A wire inspection system is provided. The wire inspection system includes a mirror assembly including an odd number of sides arranged to form a pyramid structure configured to surround a wire segment, wherein a plurality of the sides include a mirror, a light source configured to illuminate the wire segment, and at least one camera configured to acquire a plurality of images of the wire segment that are reflected by the plurality of mirrors, wherein each image of the plurality of images shows a different side of the wire segment.

A method and apparatus for tracking a cluster of objects. A path for a center of mass for the cluster of objects is identified using a sequence of frames of sensor data generated by a sensor system. The path is identified with respect to a coordinate system for the sensor data. A relative path for each object in the cluster of objects is identified with respect to the coordinate system for the sensor data. The relative path is relative to the path for the center of mass for the cluster of objects. A final path for each object in the cluster of objects is identified with respect to the coordinate system for the sensor data using the path for the center of mass for the cluster of objects and the relative path for each object in the cluster of objects.
