A vertical seat blocking/divider device includes a seat back connector and a seat cushion connector. The vertical seat blocking/divider device is disposed on the center of an aircraft seat to block occupancy of the aircraft seat and establish a barrier between neighboring seats. In a further aspect, the vertical seat blocking/divider device includes a spring element to apply a force to the fabric of the seat blocking/divider device. In a further aspect, the vertical seat blocking/divider device may include armrest connectors on opposing surfaces so that the vertical seat blocking/divider device can be disposed between occupied seats to create a barrier between passengers.

Disclosed are embodiments of passenger seats equipped with seat belts for mitigating seat damage and spinal tension from free-flail movements. In embodiments, the assembly includes a seat back, a first slip ring positioned proximate a top of the seat back, a second slip ring positioned lower on the seat back, a retractor, and a webbing threaded through each of the first and second slip rings. During normal use of the seat the first slip ring forms a first pivot for the webbing, and during a qualifying deceleration event the second slip ring forms a new pivot for the webbing lower on the seat back. In a further embodiment, first and second webbings form primary and auxiliary restraints guided by respective first and second pivots.

An armrest assembly for a seat including a static frame member, an armrest pivotally attached at one end to the static frame member, and an armrest pivot guard pivotally attached at one end to the armrest or the static frame member. The armrest pivot guard moves with armrest motion to conceal and/or maintain coverage of a pinch point near an attachment point of the armrest to the static frame member.

A seat mounting assembly including a swingarm configured for attachment to spaced-apart floor tracks, and a plinth having a seat mounted thereon mounted on the swingarm such that the swingarm is configured to deflect in a direction away from the plinth in response to floor deformation. An assembly for mounting a suite-style seat supported on a plinth to spaced floor tracks to isolate the plinth from floor deformation.

A passenger seat for a vehicle includes a seat bottom and a seat back mounted to a frame. The passenger seat includes at least one storage feature. One of the storage features may be a storage unit positioned underneath the seat bottom which is moveable between a first position in which the unit is readily accessible by a seated passenger, and a second position in which the unit is held upright or against a lower side of the seat bottom to reduce the intrusion of the unit into the under-seat space. Another storage feature may be a recess formed in the upper part of the seat bottom. The recess is covered by a moveable lid which forms part of the seating surface when closed.

A seat bottom assembly for a passenger seat includes a flexible support panel having a left portion and a separate right portion, and a structural support member underlying the support panel. The structural support member is selectively moveable between a first, forward position in which the seat bottom assembly has a nominal length in a longitudinal direction, and a second, rearward position in which a forward portion of the support panel folds downward over the structural support member such that at least a portion of the seat bottom assembly has an effective length less than the nominal length. The effective length of the left portion and the right portion of the seat bottom assembly can be independently varied.

A seat bottom assembly for a passenger seat, includes a flexible component; and a structural support member underlying the flexible component. The support member is selectively moveable between a first, forward position in which the seat bottom has a nominal length in a longitudinal direction, and a second, rearward position in which a portion of the flexible component bends downward over the structural component such that at least a portion of the seat bottom assembly has an effective length less than the nominal length. The left and right sides of the seat bottom assembly may be independently varied in length.

A frame assembly for vehicle passenger seat, including at least one leg unit, including a cantilevered transverse main beam carried by a fore and aft-extending seat leg for being mounted to the floor of the vehicle, a transversely extending front beam positioned forward of the seat leg, a backshell attached to and carried by the transverse main beam, a seat back carried on the backshell, and a seat bottom carried by a perimeter frame mounted on the backshell.

A passenger seat for a vehicle includes a seat back; and a seat bottom, which may be mounted to a fixed backshell. The seat bottom is selectively configurable such that at least a portion of one side thereof is higher than at least a portion of the opposite side thereof, relative to a floor of said vehicle, so as to support a passenger who is seated on said seat bottom in a rotated position wherein one of said passenger's hips is higher than the other hip relative to said floor.

A seat back diaphragm with a quick replacement bolster for a vehicle passenger seat which comprises a seat back diaphragm formed of a tubular fabric panel for being placed over a seat back frame of the seat, and a pair of seat back bolsters for being positioned overlying the seat back frame. The bolster includes a long zipper for releasably attaching the bolster to the diaphragm and quickly detaching the bolster from the diaphragm for replacement.

A replaceable seat back diaphragm for a vehicle passenger seat, comprising a fabric panel having opposing top and bottom edges and opposing first and second side edges with complementary fasteners carried by the first and second side edges and cooperating with each other in a fastened position to form the fabric panel into a tensioned, tubular seat back diaphragm around a seat back frame of the passenger seat.
