A gassing insulator assembly for a line conductor assembly of an electrical switching apparatus is provided having a line conductor and first and second gassing insulator members. The insulator members are constructed from a gassing material. The first gassing insulator member is disposed near a first end of the line conductor and the second gassing insulator member is generally disposed between the line conductor and a cantilevered arc runner near a second end of the line conductor.

Gassing insulator assembly, and conductor assembly and electrical switching apparatus employing the same

A flexible conductive element is provided for the conductor assembly of an electrical switching apparatus. The conductor assembly includes a load conductor, a movable contact assembly including a number of movable contact arms, movable electrical contacts mounted on the movable contact arms, and a plurality of flexible conductive elements. Each flexible conductive element includes a first end electrically connected to the load conductor, a second end electrically connected to a corresponding one of the movable contact arms of the movable contact assembly, and a plurality of bends between the first end and the second end. A first one of the bends is in a first direction and at least a second one of the bends is in a second direction which is generally opposite the first direction, in order that the flexible element is generally S-shaped. A conductor assembly and an electrical switching apparatus are also disclosed.

An adjusting knob assembly includes a knob member having a knob and an axially extending shaft. A support bracket has an aperture defined in part by a gapped ring section formed by a pair confronting arcuate fingers. The shaft and the aperture have complimentary, longitudinally extending, circumferentially distributed flat surfaces, which provide discrete angular positions for the shaft when the complimentary flat surfaces are in register. Preferably, the gap between the confronting fingers is sized, and the arcuate fingers have a compliance sufficient that the shaft may be passed laterally through the gap and snapped into the aperture. Any one of a plurality of interchangeable cam members can be press fit on to the end of the shaft.
