A device for use with a golf club which includes a mercury switch controlled which is adjustable with respect to the shaft of the club which will emit an audible sound when the club is swung rearwardly on the backswing when the preadjusted positioning of the mercury switch is obtained. In this manner the user preadjusts the position of the mercury switch controlled circuit such that the sound will be emitted when the proper backswing height is obtained. The backswing height obviously will control the distance that the ball is driven as the player advances his club forwardly into the ball. The sensitivity of the unit allows for presetting the audible emission location to accommodate putting as well as short iron golf shots. The unit includes an electrical circuit powered through a battery source and a sound emitting element all of which are controlled through a mercury switch.

Golf swing aid

An ergonomic handle for a game controller forms a pocket which receives the controller. The handle is made of a substantially moldable, pliable material which provides support and cushioning to the hands, fingers and thumbs while manipulating the controls for preventing cramping and stiffness. The handle wraps around the back and sides of the controller to retain the handle on the controller. The handle portion includes cushioning sides and a ridge around the front for supporting the base of the thumb. The face of the controller remains substantially open so that the thumb and fingers have free access to the controls. The rear of the handle has a cushioning shoulder forming a recess receiving the fingertips of fingers which wrap around the back of the handle. The shoulder and recess support the fingers in a natural holding position. In addition, a small peak portion for each hand extends down from the bottom of the handle for a lower finger of each hand to wrap around and rest against.

The device of the invention utilizes an adjustably positionable mercury switch to actuate a solenoid which in turn releases the line on the spinning reel in response to the reel reaching a predetermined angle or position in the casting motion. This feature allows the line to be consistently released at the proper position in order to achieve the desired length of cast.

Automatic spin cast reel

A collapsible and lockable hinge joint for elongated members such as a fishing rod. The embodiment disclosed utilizes a unitary, flexible, non-elastic hinge formed of polypropylene which is slotted into ferrules which are attached to adjacent segments of the rod. The junction is preferably completed with the use of a flexible coupling sleeve which slides over the joint. In this manner the entire rod is flexible when in use and does not contain a dead spot at the joint. For use as a fishing rod the segments of the rod can be folded together and clipped for easy storage and transportation.
