Survey plat documents which are not susceptible to intentional alteration or damage due to environmental conditions are made using a photographic process. A transparent photographic film is exposed and photographically processed to capture the image of a plat drawing and then protected by applying clear laminates to each side of the film using a permanent, clear adhesive.

A process and reaction vessel for producing alkyl nitrite is disclosed the process comprising (a) contacting nitric oxide, lower alcohol and oxygen in a reaction zone such that alkyl nitrite is formed, said reaction zone comprising a reactor section and a rectification section, (b) supplying a liquid scrubbing agent to an upper portion of the rectification section, (c) withdrawing a gaseous alkyl nitrite product stream from the upper portion of the rectification section, and (d) withdrawing a liquid stream from a lower portion of the reactor section. The reactor section provides intimate vapor-liquid contact sufficient to enhance the conversion of nitric oxide to alkyl nitrite and the rectification section provides sufficient vapor residence time to enhance conversion of oxygen, as well as sufficient rectification capabilities to reduce the amounts of water and nitric acid in the gaseous alkyl nitrite product stream.

Process and reaction vessel for production of alkyl nitrite

A process is provided for removing impurities from the gaseous product of an alkyl nitrite production zone by contacting a portion of it with lower alcohol and oxygen to convert substantially all of the nitric oxide in that portion of the gaseous product stream to alkyl nitrite, the oxygen being present in an amount such that the mole ratio of nitric oxide to oxygen is in the range of about 4:1 to about 2:1 and the lower alcohol being present in the reaction zone such that the mole ratio of nitric oxide to lower alcohol is about 1:1 or less. A recovery stream, comprising alkyl nitrite substantially free of nitric oxide, is withdrawn from the reaction zone and at least a portion of the alkyl produced in the reaction zone is removed. A least a portion of the balance of the recovery stream from which the alkyl nitrite has been removed is purged, thereby removing impurities from the process.

A continuous process is provided for preparing alkanolamines having a high yield of monoalkanolamine, which comprises continuously reacting a flowing stream of a homogeneous mixture of an alkylene oxide having from two to four carbon atoms and ammonia in a molar ratio of ammonia to alkylene oxide within the range from about 15:1 to about 50:1 at temperatures above the critical temperature of the mixture and at pressures above the critical pressure of the mixture and maintaining the mixture in a single phase having a density of at least 15 lbs./cu.ft. for the time necessary to form an alkanolamine product mixture containing at least about 65% by weight monoalkanolamine.

Continuous process for preparing alkanolamines

A process is provided for preparing alkanolamines having a high yield of monoalkanolamine which comprises reacting in a reaction mixture an alkylene oxide having from two to four carbon atoms with ammonia in a molar ratio of ammonia to alkylene oxide within the range from about 15.1 to about 50.1 at temperatures above the critical temperature of the reaction mixture and at pressures above the critical pressure of the reaction mixture and high enough to maintain the reaction mixture at sufficiently high fluid densities.

Process for preparing alkanolamines

A trotline storage and dispensing device is disclosed. The device includes a base wall, first and second pairs of side walls extending upwardly from the base wall, and a divider wall extending substantially parallel to each of the first pair of side walls and between each wall of the second pair of side walls. A pair of storage compartments, each bounded by the base wall, one of the first pair of side walls, the divider wall and the second pair of side walls is thus formed. Hook storage and dispensing tubes are disposed at the top of and extend along each of the first pair of side walls. Each of the storage compartments receives a trotline, while the hook storage and dispensing tubes receive and retain hooks connected by leaders to the trotline so that as the storage and dispensing device is moved away from an anchored end of each trotline, the trotline, leaders and hooks are pulled over one of the second pair of side walls and out of the storage and dispensing device.
