A satellite system may have a constellation of communications satellites. Satellite terminal equipment may be used to communicate with the satellite constellation. The satellite terminal equipment may have indoor and outdoor equipment that can communicate wirelessly. Power may be conveyed wirelessly between the indoor equipment and the outdoor equipment. The indoor equipment may include communications circuitry for supporting communications with electronic devices. The outdoor equipment may include satellite communications circuitry. The satellite communications circuitry may include antennas, satellite transceiver circuitry, and modems. Wireless communications between the indoor and outdoor equipment may be supported using radio-frequency wireless communications circuits or optical communications circuits.

A front sight assembly that can be mounted to a barrel and a gas block is disclosed. The front sight assembly has a barrel mount that allows the front sight assembly to pivot about the barrel. The front sight assembly also has a gas block mount that allows the user to pivot and set the front sight left or right to allow for windage. The front sight assembly may also have a front sight disposed over the gas block mount.

This isometric/isotonic exercise and physical therapy system is based on a series of elongated exercise rods made of urethane or other resilient, elastomeric resin that is both bendable and twistable. The exercise or therapy afforded by the system depends on the resilient exercise rod or rods; for a relatively limp, low-resistance rod the exercise is essentially isotonic, but with stiffer rods isometric exercise or therapy is provided. The system includes devices that mount the rod or rods on the person using the system for varied exercises of the knee, elbow, hip, wrist, back, or virtually any other portion of the user's anatomy.

An exercise and physical therapy device for a human anatomical part (e.g. a foot and ankle) includes a support. An adjustable, resilient torsion device, capable of both twisting and bending motion, has one end affixed to the support; an engagement member, for engagement with a human anatomical part, is mounted on the other end of the torsion device. In one embodiment the support is pivotally mounted on a base plate, and an elevating latch mechanism latches the support at one of several angular positions relative to the base plate. In another embodiment the support constitutes the base of the device and a plurality of bumpers mounted on the support limit angular deflection of the engagement member relative to the support.

Isotonic/isometric exercise and therapy system

An adjustable elastomer bias device includes a base member (metal or rigid plastic) having plural receptacles for receiving one end of each of a like plurality of bendable, resilient, elastomer rods. An index member is included in the device; the index member has plural rod guide passages and each elastomer rod passes through one guide passage so that the index member can slide longitudinally along the rods, toward and away from the base member. The index member is anchored at one of several displacement distances from the base member to change the effective stiffness (bias) of the rods. The index member may be rotated for torsional bias or moved laterally for linear bias to effect a further bias adjustment; a retainer holds the additional bias adjustment. The bias force of the device results from bending of the elastomer rods.

An exercise and physical therapy device for a human anatomical part (e.g. a foot and ankle) has a base plate; a support plate is pivotally mounted on the base plate. An elevating latch mechanism latches the support member at one of several angular positions relative to the base plate. An adjustable, resilient torsion device, capable of both twisting and bending motion, has one end affixed to the support member; a connection member, for connection to the human anatomical part, is mounted on the other end of the torsion device.

This isometric/isotonic exercise and physical therapy device employs an elongated exercise rod preferably made of urethane or other resilient, elastomer resin. The exercise rod is releasably mounted, as by a set screw, in a socket that in turn is mounted on a metal base. The exercise rod may have one end secured in the socket; in other embodiments the socket is tubular and the elastomer rod extends through the tube. Different forms of mounting apparatus mount the base of the device on a stable support such as a floor, a desk, a table, a cabinet, a wall, a door, or a door frame. The base mounts include a vacuum cup for surface mounting, a clamp for a table or desk edge mount, and a floor-to-lintel doorway mount. The exercise/therapy use of the device depends on the resilient elastomer exercise rod; for a limp, low-resistance rod the exercise is essentially isotonic, but with stiffer rods isometric exercise is provided.

Isotonic-isometric device for exercise and physical therapy

An adjustable elastomer torsion device includes a base member aligned in partially nested relation with a resilient elastomer (e.g. rubber or urethane resin) torsion member; parts of the base member and the torsion member overlap each other and an extension portion of the torsion member projects beyond the base member. The base member and the torsion member are interlocked, where they overlap each other, to prevent relative twisting between them, but the interlock does not interfere with twisting of the torsion member extension. An adjustment mechanism provides for adjustment of the positions of the base and torsion members relative to each other to vary the length of the extension portion of the torsion member over a given displacement length and thereby adjust the elastomeric, resilient torsional restoration force (torsional resistance) of the device within a predetermined force range. In some versions, the base member is a resilient elastomer, so that some twisting occurs in the base member; in others the base member does not twist preceptibly.

A primary conveyor belt cleaner includes an elongated support extending across but spaced from a conveyor belt of width W and includes a stiff guide extending for approximately the full length of the support; a scraper blade of resilient elastomer resin is mounted on the support and engages the conveyor belt surface. The scraper blade has a short base wall removably mounted on the support by a reinforcement that interfits with the guide; the blade has two longer curved side walls, an inner wall concave toward the belt and an outer wall convex away from the belt. The two side walls come together to form a scraping edge. The belt cleaner includes a torsion bias mechanism that resiliently maintains the belt scraping edge in continuous engagement with the belt. Two or more primary cleaners may be incorporated in one system. Flexure of the blade permits passage of a mechanical splice in the belt without appreciable damage to the blade or the splice.

Conveyor belt cleaners

A secondary conveyor belt cleaner includes a metal support of length L1 and a metal guide of continuous or intermittent construction; the support extends across a conveyor belt of width W in spaced relation to the belt. A plurality of belt cleaner blades of total length L2 (W.apprxeq.L1.apprxeq.L2) are mounted on the guide by a plurality of metal cantilever support arms, usually forged aluminum, one per blade; on each arm there is a metal reinforcement that fits snugly in a base wall in its blade. Torsion bias acting on the support rotationally urges the blades against the conveyor belt.
