The present disclosure provides for a novel pig design and method of retrieval based on thermal ablation. The pig comprises an external layer and an inner core, where the inner core further comprises at least one incendiary charge comprising at least one exothermic material. When ignited via an ignition source, the incendiary charge releases the exothermic material into one or more thermal dispersion channels. The exothermic material melts the interior of these thermal dispersion channels thereby distributing the exothermic material throughout the pig device causing its destruction via thermal ablation. The destroyed pig can then be easily retrieved from its location in a pipe, as detected via radio signals, without the need for costly excavation of large sections of the pipe.

A high carrying capacity temperature-stable breakable gel of selectable viscosity with exceptional lubricity and high-temperature stability for varied use as a carrier of solids and particulate matter, as well as semi-solids and liquids in water and petroleum well drilling, completion and production such as gravel pack fluid, drilling fluid, fracturing fluid, pigging fluid, sweep for coiled tubing, and other uses. A preferred formulation comprises a formulated 'Base Concentrate' which is added to water or drilling fluids to be viscosified and an 'Activator' which is added in amounts to develop the desired gel consistency. When breaking of the gel is desired a &#x201c;Breaker&#x201d; composition containing multivalent ions collapses the gel into a free-flowing liquid.

High carrying capacity temperature-stable breakable gel for well drilling, completion, and other uses

An easily breakable variable viscosity gel composition comprising a mixture of water, pH adjusting agents, gelling agents, and property enhancing additives evenly dispersed into the mixture, and an alkaline electrolyte viscosity increasing agent that raises the pH of the mixture to instantaneously trigger formation of a smooth homogeneous stable gel of desired viscosity for firefighting and fire suppression, explosion suppression and other uses. The gel also has the capacity to cling to, and build upon, vertical and horizontal surfaces which deprives fires of air while simultaneously profoundly and almost instantly lowering the temperature of the burning fuel, yet when effortlessly broken to a liquid by the simple addition of calcium or similar compositions, is easily rinsed away as a non-hazardous environmentally safe liquid. Additionally, when used to surround explosives, the gel grants exceptional explosion suppression.

Easily removable breakable gel for firefighting, explosion suppression and method of use

A surgical stapler having a tissue spacer at its forward end. The spacer is inserted between lateral sides of a wound to be closed and holds the tissue on lateral sides of the wound apart while the tines of a staple are driven into the tissue margins and bent around the staple bending surface of the staple anvil to draw the tissue captured between the tines toward each other. The tissue spacer has a width greater than the width of the staple bending surface of the anvil and less than the distance between the tines of the staple in an unbent condition such that when inserted between lateral sides of the wound it will space the facing tissue margins of the wound apart a distance sufficient to provide a metered amount of tissue lateral sides of the wound that will be captured between the tines and drawn together as the tines are bent toward each other to close the wound without crushing or overlapping of the captured tissue.

Tissue aligning surgical stapler and method of use

A handle for use in production of brushes by fusion. The handle is injection molded with a set of pre-formed holes. Each hole contains, on its bottom surface, a protrusion of excess material. Bristles for the brush are heated to form a small fuse at their ends. When the fused ends are inserted into the holes, material from the protrusion flows around the fuses, retaining them in the holes upon cooling.

A smooth stable viscous gelled printing ink composition comprising a mixture of water, a gelling agent, a chelating agent, and a colorant or pigment, property enhancing additives evenly dispersed into the mixture, and an alkaline electrolyte viscosity increasing agent that raises the pH of the mixture and forms a smooth homogeneous stable gel with a viscosity level having the consistency of a custard or jelly. In addition to the colorants or pigments, additives may also include drying oils, resins, surfactants, film forming components, water flight agents, and other additives. The stabilized gel prevents separation and settling of the homogeneously suspended colorants, pigments, and property enhancing additives, and significantly improves storage stability. The ink compositions do not require shaking, stirring, or mixing prior to use are fast drying on paper, and do not dry on the printing press, in the storage containers, or in the ink jet or bubble jet injector nozzles. The gelled ink compositions with property enhancing additives also have improved non rub-off characteristics, excellent printability, high color strength, good water balance, less mist, and sharp halftone reproduction.

A method of exerting a uniform force on bristle bundles in a clamp. Holes in a locking plate in a clamp are adjusted such that when the clamp is engaged, a specific force is exerted on the bristle bundles. The adjustment allows the holes to be displaced by different amounts for a given displacement of the locking plate.

A smooth stable viscous gelled surface polish composition comprising a mixture of water, a gelling agent, a chelating agent, an abrasive, and colorant or pigment and other property enhancing additives evenly dispersed into the mixture, and an alkaline electrolyte viscosity increasing agent that raises the pH of the mixture and forms a smooth homogeneous stable gel with a viscosity level having the consistency of a custard or jelly which prevents separation of the abrasives and additives and does not require shaking or mixing prior to use. Additionally other suitable additives such as antioxidants, waxes, and oils may be used in the composition. The smooth homogeneous stable gel is also resistant to drying and the formation of a surface &ldquo;skin&rdquo;.

Multi-use homogeneous breakable gelled adhesives and adhesive mastics which can be used &ldquo;as is&rdquo; for the installation of various types of tile, including tiles with deeply grooved backs, stone, marble, and other floor and wall coverings, flexible sheet goods, carpet and other uses, and can be mixed with a Portland cement powder to form a powerful latex-modified mortar having the added utility of a crack suppressive adhesive and functioning as a waterproofing membrane. The stabilized gelled adhesive or adhesive mastic prevents the separation and settling of components, and when Portland powdered cement is added, becomes a high strength latex modified mortar. The gelled adhesive or adhesive mastic is usable as a latex modified dry-set mortar. With the addition of Portland cement and silica sand, the gel will break and become a free-flowing liquid with additives which allow precise quantitation and easy mixing to produce a homogeneous latex modified thinset mortar that assumes the texture of a trowelable thinset mortar as more Portland cement/silica sand is added.

Low solids, high strength multi-use gelled adhesives and adhesive mastics

An apparatus and method for producing brushes. The bristle bundles are loaded into a magazine which includes part of a cavity for an injection mold. The magazine is mated with the remainder of the injection mold and the brush handle injection molded around the bristles. The bristles may be profiled, trimmed, end-rounded, fused, or otherwise processed before the handle is injection molded. In addition, the handle of the brush may be formed in two injection molding steps of two different materials. An apparatus is taught which enables the brush to be produced, optionally ornamented, and packaged on a single machine.

Apparatus and method for producing brushware by injection molding

A method and apparatus for feeding bristle bundle material into a magazine. The magazine is used in the production of brushes in which not all the bristle bundles extend in the same direction from the face of the brush. The feed apparatus for guiding the bristle bundle material from a supply to the magazine includes a number of transition plates having channels machined at an oblique angle to the surface of the plate. The plates each guide the bristle bundle material through a small angle; the assembled plates can guide the material through a large total angle so that the angle at which the bristle bundles enter the magazine is the same as the angle the bristles will have with respect to the brush.

An organic, easy to use, dual function adhesive in the form of a single package ready-to-use stabilized gelled mastic adhesive which prevents the separation and settling of components, for use in the installation of ceramic tile as an ordinary mastic adhesive when used as furnished for ceiling and wall tiles and, when Portland powdered cement is added, becomes a high strength latex modified dry-set mortar because of the unique breakable gel properties of the mastic adhesive. The gelled mastic adhesive is usable as the water component for dry-set mortar because, on the addition of portland cement, the gel will break and become a free-flowing liquid with additives thereby allowing precise quantitation and easy mixing to produce a homogeneous dry-set mortar with the strength and water resistance of a latex modified Portland cement based composition and also functions as a waterproofing and crack suppressing membrane adhesive.

Dual function gelled mastic adhesive and gelled mastic adhesive mortar

An apparatus for end-rounding bristles in a brush having different heights. The apparatus includes pins disposed in pre-determined locations such that they will contact selected bristles in a brush abutting the apparatus when the pins travel a two-dimensional path. The height of the pins is adjusted according to the heights of the selected bristles.
