An office space dividing partition having an electrical raceway. The raceway includes an extruded plastic spine having a vertical web; a top portion which includes an extruded mounting slot; a bottom portion which includes first and second extruded grooves and a noise seal; and, an intermediate portion which defines four passageways for communication and power wiring. First and second extruded plastic side panels are telescoped into engagement with the first and second extruded grooves of the spine. An extruded panel-to-raceway connector connects the spine to the bottom edge of an office space dividing panel. Raceway stabilizers extend outwardly from the spine to engage support posts which support the panels. Raceway shrouds, which conceal the posts adjacent to the ends of the raceways, are positionally keyed to the spine for accurate mating with the side panels of the raceway.

An electrical or communications monument for selective mounting along an edge of a work surface which may have a predetermined minimum spacing between the edge and an adjacent obstruction. The monument includes a one-piece bracket having a back portion from which a base and first and second spaced support arms extend. The base joins the back portion with a curved section which has a predetermined relative large radius. The back portion extends above the support arms to provide a flange upon which a receptacle is mounted. The curved section enables the bracket to be mounted along an edge of a work surface, notwithstanding a closely spaced wall, with the support arms resting upon the work surface. A screw is threadedly engaged with the base. Engagement of the screw with the lower side of the work surface provides a firm three-point support for the monument.

An office space dividing system which includes rectangular post-supported panels having central cores and upper wire troughs. Each panel includes two stiles and upper and lower rails constructed of tubular metallic members having the same substantially rectangular cross-sectional configuration which includes a longitudinal channel. The stiles and rails are arranged to define four corners each having two adjacent unobstructed openings. A right angle reinforcing member is press fit into the adjoining openings to provide four square corners which are maintained by staking. The stiles and lower rail are oriented such that the longitudinal channels support the central core. The upper rail is inverted, with the longitudinal channel supporting the wire trough. A spanner extends across each post, between adjacent panels, from wire trough to wire trough. Post caps, panel caps, and four plastic corners on each panel complete the system.

The double action latch employs a strike with two latches and a stop on the opposite side of the latches. The handle actuates a pivotally mounted bracket unit to cause a roller to ride over the first latch while moving a plate into a plate into engagement with the stop. This brings the door into a partially opened position, for example, for venting an oven. The handle is returned to the upright position and then a second pull is effected to move the roller over the second latch so as to permit the door to be fully opened.

Double action latch

A modular barrier comprising a pair of vertical posts, a pair of parallel rails and a holding assembly for retaining the ends of the rails inside the posts. Each of the posts has a facing vertical wall with the vertical wall having an upper window and a lower window. An upper tongue extends upwardly into the upper window while a dependent lower tongue extends into the lower window. Each of the rails has a first end disposed inside one of the posts and a second end disposed inside the other post. The posts have facing inside walls and each of the walls has an indentation adjacent the rails receiving a corresponding one of the tongues. The holding assembly is positioned entirely within a post and functions to push the rails towards each other so that the tongues are held in their corresponding indentations to maintain the posts and rails assembled.

Modular barrier

A connector assembly for joining a horizontal member and a vertical member without the formation of substantial exposed gaps. The assembly includes a base with a saddle surface at one end and an abutment flange at the other end. The base has an aperture between the ends and a slot communicating with the aperture. A locking collar has a bore receiving the base and an inwardly directed annular lip at a first end of the collar. The collar also includes an internal screw thread and an abutment for engaging the flange of the base. Also the assembly includes a locking insert with a body for reception in the base. The insert has extending arms at one end terminating in screw threads and at the other end a holding flange for retaining the horizontal member. A method of using the connector assembly is also disclosed.
