A sensor apparatus includes a base, a nozzle positioned in the base and rotatable relative to the base, an extension arm elongated from a first portion to a second portion, and a fluid source fluidly connected to the nozzle. The first portion is fixed to the nozzle, and the second portion is spaced from the nozzle. Pressurizing the fluid source applies force to the second portion of the extension arm.

Sensor apparatus with cleaning

A computer includes a processor and a memory, the memory storing instructions executable by the processor to identify a contaminant on a lens of a sensor upon determining a force applied to the lens based on an electric current exceeding a threshold and to actuate a cleaning component to remove the contaminant from the lens.

Enhanced vehicle sensor cleaning

A sensor assembly includes a housing, an air inlet tube through the housing and including a drain, and a sensor in the path of air flowing through the air inlet tube. The sensor assembly may further include a heater thermally connected to the drain. A controller may be communicatively coupled to the heater and programmed to activate the heater upon detecting an ambient temperature below a temperature threshold.

Sensor housing drainage

An assembly includes a base having an inlet and an outlet. The assembly includes a deflector supported by the base rearward of the inlet. The assembly includes a sensor supported by the base and in fluid communication with the outlet. The base defines a channel extending between a first end and a second end, the inlet at the first end and the deflector at the second end. The outlet is forward of the deflector and outside the channel.

Sensor assembly

An assembly includes a housing having a chamber. A pressure source is in fluid communication with the chamber. A first sensor window and a second sensor window are each defined by the housing. The housing has a first port and a second port each in fluid communication with the chamber. The first port is adjacent the first sensor window, and the second port is adjacent the second sensor window.

Vehicle object-detection sensor assembly

An apparatus includes a housing including an aperture, a sensor in the housing and having a field of view received through the aperture, a seal sealing a gap between the sensor and the aperture, and a blower positioned to blow into the housing. The seal may be attached to the housing concentrically around the aperture.

Pressurized sensor seal

A vehicle includes a roof and a housing having a bottom surface sealed to the roof. The vehicle includes a base in the housing and having a first surface sealed to the roof, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a duct extending from the first surface to the second surface. The vehicle includes a navigation sensor supported by the second surface. The vehicle includes a wire in electrical communication with the navigation sensor and extending through the duct.

A vehicle windshield assembly including a glass layer, a first layer, and a second layer is disclosed. The glass layer has inner and outer surfaces. The first layer contacts the inner surface of the glass layer, and defines voids in the first layer in a shape of a design. The second layer contacts the first layer and occupies the voids. The first and second layers have a color contrast to enhance visibility of the design.
