A modular pump platform includes a pump head module, a pump motor module, an electronics module and a separable tray. The pump motor module includes a pump motor having a rotary output removably coupled to a crank shaft of the pump head, the pump motor being one of multiple types of pump motors, and the pump motor module being detachably connected to the pump head module. The electronics module includes an electronic control circuit configured to control operation of the pump motor, the electronic control circuit being one of multiple types of electronic control circuits corresponding to the types of pump motors. Each of the pump head module, the pump motor module and the electronics module is detachably connected to the separable tray. At least the pump motor module is interchangeable with another pump motor module comprising a pump motor of another type.

Modular pump platform

Parts of a pump head of a scroll pump facilitate an assembly process in which the stationary and orbiting scroll blades of the pump are angularly aligned or synchronized with one another. A metallic bellows of the pump head provides a primary means of synchronizing the stationary and orbiting scroll blades. The assembly process may be carried out using a fixture configured to be mountable to an assemblage including the bellows and the orbiting plate scroll. The fixture has a reference feature, and the orbiting plate scroll or the frame has another reference feature that can be aligned with the reference feature of the fixture, in the circumferential direction of the bellows, during the course of the assembly process.

Compact disc removal tool

A compact disc removal tool for removing a compact disc from holding tabs in its carrying case, for transporting the disc to a compact disc player machine, and for replacement of the disc in its carrying case. The tool consists of a pair of longitudinally aligned, oppositely directed elongated arms having at their opposite distal ends outstanding cupped fingers adapted to encompass opposite sides of a compact disc, the arms connected at the point proximate each other to a central body split ring oriented transversely to the longitudinal direction of the arms. Centrally located on the removal tool on each arm proximal end for disengaging the carrying case disc holding tabs is a partial circular arc ridge adapted to engage the disc circular face, an adjacent circular arc depression, and a vertical circular wall interposed the ridge and the depression. The split ring, when grasped and compressed over a compact disc in its carrying case, causes the cupped fingers to engage opposite sides of the compact disc while the circular walls simultaneously engage the carrying case holding tabs to release their hold upon the centrally located opening of the compact disc. With the release of the disc by the holding tabs, the disc is easily removed from its position in the holding case.

An article adapted for the adhesive removal of typewritten, vertically cohesive ink characters from a substrate, said article comprising, in combination, a rigid body member having affixed thereto a resilient, discriminating adhesive portion in projecting relation to said body member, the adhesive portion of said article comprising a fused blend of a resin and a plasticizer and having a discriminating affinity for typewriter ink.
