A device for dispensing a liquid is connectable to a container containing the liquid and detachably connectable to a base station having a drive member, the device including a liquid duct and a pump actuated by the drive member for effecting passage of liquid through the duct, characterized in that the device includes a cutter for piercing a tamper resistant foil positioned across the outlet of the container and that a push pin for actuating the cutter is operable from outside the device.

Device for dispensing a liquid

The present disclosure provides a base station for a liquid dispensing apparatus. The base station includes a driver and a container support having a dispensing device, which includes a liquid duct leading from the container to an outlet. The device further includes a connector connected to the driver and detachably connectable to the dispensing device. In an embodiment, the container support is a holder, and the connector is movable towards the holder to connect to the dispensing device and away from the holder after disconnecting from the dispensing device.

The system and method achieve dispensing of the product with a visual differentiation of the components in the container. The invention relates to a dispensing system and method for on-demand dispensing of spoonable or drinkable food products in a container. Single servings or larger portions of these products can be dispensed. The system and method achieve dispensing of the product with a visual differentiation of the components in the container. The container may be translucent or transparent so that the consumer can view the visually differentiated product therein. The products form yet another embodiment of the invention.

A liquid heater includes at least a pair of electrodes each of which having an electrically conducting surface and being spaced apart from each other. The liquid heater also includes a first heating passage defined, at least in part, by the electrically conducting surfaces of the electrodes. Electrical power to the liquid heater is provided by an electrical power supplier configured to draw an alternating electrical current having a frequency less than or substantially equal to 60 Hz and supply an alternating electrical voltage having a frequency substantially equal to or higher than 50 Hz across the electrodes. The electrodes are arranged to make electrical contacts with liquid received into the heating passage. The liquid in the heating passage generates heat when an electric current flows through the liquid and between electrodes.

On-demand direct electrical resistance heating system and method thereof for heating liquid

A liquid heater includes an electrical power supplier and a heating passage configured to receive unheated liquid. The heating passage is defined by a first electrode and a second electrode. The first and second electrodes are electrically connected to the electrical power supplier. The unheated liquid received into the heating passage generates heat when an electric current flows through the liquid and between the first and second electrodes. The liquid heater is utilized in beverage product dispensers and heated liquid food product dispensers.

On-demand direct electrical resistance heating system and method thereof

A process and an apparatus for the production of a new reduced fat culinary sauce which comprises mixing the ingredients of a reduced fat culinary sauce whereby part of the fat present in a regular culinary sauce is substituted by water, controlling the water activity to a value less than 0.95, mixing or precooking below 160.degree. F. and then processing for a minimum of 0.87 minutes by continuous steam injection and holding at a temperature of at least 160.degree. F.

Reduced fat product

Coffee brewing cycle time is improved by contacting roasted ground coffee with a brief interval of steam, e.g. 3 seconds. The steam is preferably introduced prior to contact with brewing water and may be followed by a brief interval of pause prior to introducing the water. Steam and water are preferably introduced under a moderately elevated pressure. Improvements in appearance, color, flavor, aroma and yield can be achieved along with reduced cycle time.

Coffee brewing method

A reusable filtration element for a coffee brewer has a microscopic arrangement of holes which permit coffee beverage to pass through while turbidity and sediment causing solids are effectively removed. The holes are preferably from 12 to 60 microns across and provide from 5 to 30 % open area in the filter element. In one preferred embodiment, the holes are circular, arranged in rows such that intersecting rows form an angle of 60.degree., and preferably taper from top to bottom. A preferred filtration element is preferably formed by photoetching stainless steel foil. The filtration element is preferably positioned over a foraminous support.
